Only if they are not eccles cakes in disguise:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

CHorley cakes? My DH loves chorley cakes, a throw back to his Uni days I think. Could one of you Chorlonians please post a recipe for me? Would be very grateful."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Anyone ever made sausgaes? Any advice/recipes?
Flushed with the success of the homemade baked beans (Huge huge hit) I decided that as DH has a love of good quality (for which read Expensive) sausages, I would like to have a go, good way of using up pork from Mr Ts reduced section.
No idea where to start - have bought sausage skins and I think I need to soak them over night. Have got mincer with sausage nozzle.
Can I get pork fat from the supermarket? we do have real butchers but they are few and far between, and usually a fair traipse away.
thanks0 -
I wanna make sausages too, was discussing this with someone the other day. Found nice recipe on a website and general principles. What about using some belly pork? This may have enough fat in for your requirements without the need for extra. Morrisons butcher on the premises so they may have some pork fat."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Hi MissMassEffect,
Strawberries tend to go quite mushy once frozen as they have such a high water content so even if you open freeze them on a tray they're unlikely to retain their shape and texture once defrosted.
They do freeze well though if you are planning to use them for making smoothies, jam etc. I wouldn't go to the bother of open freezing unless you are just planning to lift a few out of the freezer at a time.
This older thread has some suggestions that may help:

Hope you're all keeping well and cooking up a storm! Got a huge meeting Monday re schools for DS3 so am buried up to my neck in paperwork at present
Had a good old sort out of my freezer space so its all prepped and ready for bringing in a load of garden produce...I just have to find the time to get out there and dig it all up!!
I have a ton of leeks still, turnips, parsnips, carrots, beetroots(destined for brownies!),and a load of spinach and chard.
Plan to make most of it into dinners rather than just blanching it all but need a 48 hour clock at the moment!!
Morwenna thats one big ole braid there  looks gorgeous!
PurpleIvy I will try and get on here to do those recipes for you I haven't forgotten
Haven't had a chance to read back yet so if there's any questions etc will catch up as soon as life allows
