oh that reminded me, D you mentioning a book from the book people. DS has a similar scheme at school (bookplus?) and they have a book on offer at the mo about one pot cooking. Its £3 and I really wanted to buy it but I did the OS thing and just looked up a recipe I was interested in (I bought risotto rice last week and am going for my first ever attempt next week) and put the book back! cheeky but cheap!
I spent a very pleasant time at Borders earlier in the week. Went and had a coffee and spent ages browsing..... coffee and cake was cheaper than any of the books I might have bought......Moneysaving you might say:T[SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Hi all
Well glad to see you are all well and busy. I've had a grotty couple of weeks with some virus or other but feel great today for a change.
So I have been busy catching up with the thread and all the wonderful recipes.
Have made today some sausage rolls, banana bread, two savoury braids, one ham and sausage and one ham and cheese and some iced buns.
Plan on doing some white baps and hm beefburgers for dinner.
It's amazing how satisfying it is to get in the kitchen.
How is the knitting going for those who started a way back?0 -

I am so happy, my first loaf has just come out so lovely and perfect. I feel like a proud mum over a loaf of bread:rolleyes:
I went for the basic one in the end for the first attempt, but a medium size with light crust.
I went for the 4 hour option as someone on the Panasonic thread thought theirs did not make the rapid one too good? What do you girls think?
Anyway I have just had a huge slice with some of my homemade Jersey Butter I have also made from the reduced cream I bought in Mr T last night.
Heaven......:A Shame there is no one else home to share it with me!0 -

Hi Everyone

Im glad in a way though, cos I managed to get lots of cleaning and washing done, and ds and I have made some bread, cakes and brownies this afternoon, so thats been fun! Thinking about making some savoury braids too...did a pizza type one the other day, but does anyone have any inspiration or tried and tested others that I could try?

well done, you'll never go back to shop bought now :rotfl:I always used to make the rapid on my old machine which was very noisy, but now I have a panny, I set it up with the full program the night before so that is ready when we get up in the morning, that way you get fresh bread for the day and no waiting around (I dont like going out and leaving the BM after we set fire to it by not realising a T Bag had dropped in from the shelf above  )
Homemade butter - did I miss that one, can you point me at it if the recipe is on the thread , if not pls tell me how, although not sure that my waistline will like it :rotfl:0 -
Just made the carrot muffins and have a loaf rising. The only problem with them is that they are that yummy and i have eaten 2 already, just in the interests of trying them out of course.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
