Anyone Still Waiting for their loan?

so far mine has been in since august, approximately 12 weeks  I have called my LEA several times to no avail - still waiting for the 'within 10 days' callback, this is day 10, the slc are no help whatsoever either. I'm just really glad that my uni saw fit to bend their rules and allow me a short term loan of £500 to try and keep things ticking over but it doesn't even cover my rent so things are still very very tight. Today is my daughter's birthday and I've had to ask her to wait til my loan comes through before it can be celebrated properly and get her a gift for it
I thought the slc was your lea cos you are on the pilot scheme?
Have you not managed to speak to anyone at the pilot scheme yet?
What have the slc people you have spoken to told you is the reason for the delay?0 -
my lea have a thing where you call some kind of answering service, which is answered by a real person who takes your art id, name and phone number and passes it on to the student support dept who are supposed to call you back within 10 days. The last time I had a convo with someone from the lea was 11th october and it was someone who sounded like a temp as she seemed very unsure of what she was saying. No one has called me back since despite me having left my details several times.
SLC just say they don't know what the problem is and that they'll put a note (task) on my account for the LEA☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

My loan be here, cheers guys!!
So you haven't heard from them in over a month  . That callback system sounds a bit nuts to me. Like what companies do to avoid ringing you back.
Hang on, so you phone ur lea and get answered by a real person? I would just yell my socks off for them to put me through to the student support dept, it's not like it's hard for them to do so i'm sure. Or say something different, like i want to make a complaint, and see if they put you through to anyone senior. Failing that if they're local i would just drive there lol. It doesn't sound like they are looking at your application at all. And i think roxalana said that task thing the slc put through doesn't get through to them anyway?0 -

The task appears if you look at the persons record - it says there is 1 task oustanding for this customer or something like that. The LEA can run reports (basically create a list) that shows who has tasks outstanding but in our LEA we don't have the staff to do that - we decided people would rather just get their money asap so we spend as much time as possible assessing (plus most people tend to ring their LEA straight after the SLC, so I tend to find I've already spoken to the person about the contents of the task!)
I second flake - you need to firmly ask to be put through to someone and if they won't, say you wish to speak to the person's supervisor to make a complaint. It is absolutely vital you speak to someone Ethel! Ring them a few times a day if you have to! Be irritating!0 -
it gets worse.. according to the slc, my application has been processed and is now just waiting for my signature.. however, something has not been updated to reflect this and so the declaration letter has not been sent and is not available online either
finally got someone nice at the slc who dictated an email for me to send to lea in the hopes of it moving something!
and guess what....... email bounced back with

:rotfl: sorry had to laugh!!
You are in exactly the position i was...all done, not updated! Atleast they have processed it i guess *cringes as ethel visibly swells with anger*
lol lol lol in all serious  b*stards, phone your lea first thing tomorrow and yell your little heart out ethel till they put you through to someone from the student dept. All they need to do is update it's well quick and simple! They've just not looked at your application (ie forgotten) then it's simple like mine was, get declaration, sign, get money!0 -
I think I might go and camp in the town hall tomorrow
seriously, how incompetent are these people?
However, I want to praise robbie allan at the slc cos he took the time to try and find out exactly what was going on and how to sort it, unlike the woman yesterday who said.. 'you'll just have to give it more time' and hung up on me when I said that really wasn't a helpful remark ☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

seems that way doesn't it? poor roxalana
I don't drive - too expensive and sort of pointless in London but I can get on a bliddy bus!!!! I'm rather lardy of (_|_) so they'll have a job shifting me if they try to manhandle me out, hehehehehe
how the hell can they publish an email address that doesn't exist?☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

well luckily the people I work with at the LEA are lovely, have worked there nearly for forever and know what they are talking about and some of the people I speak to at the SLC are very helpful (esp someone called James on the SLC LEA helpline - sadly not open to students).
However, I can't say my experience contacting pilot schemes or the student SLC contact centre has been great in all honesty and I think my colleagues at the LEA would concur - sorry to anyone at the SLC - this is just my personal experience.0
