Anyone Still Waiting for their loan?

ah thanx roxalana, i get someone different everytime they keep saying different things!0

Plus I guess if the service seems poor at the LEA it will make the service at the SLC seem better...
but perhaps I am just cynical!
Not cynical at all, I think you just have your eyes open! Don't forget the little accounting trick they are going to pull out when it all goes over to SLC control..parents' financial details will be taken from 2 years previous rather than 1 to speed everything through so they can say 'oh look how rubbish the LAs were!'
The Student Loans Company is an absolute disgrace when it comes to actually doing their job properly, their customer service is next to non-existant. You have probably found this yourself, even when calling from a Local Authority I have found them to be nothing but ill-informed and rude.
God help entrants when the SLC takes over fully.0 -

Hopefully this will put a rocket under their bums and get them moving, mine still says awaiting assessment!☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

No i didn't agree, but it appears that my agreement wasn't necessary as I have freely posted on the website...
Hopefully though MSE agreed to the use of quotes from the forum as obviously I do not work for this site and my comments have now been linked to the site in the article - I hope people don't read it as the view of the website rather than my 10 cents...
I was just worried if I spoke directly to the journalist my comments would be taken as the 'LEA view', but unfortunately I think that has happened anyway...0 -
Hiya guys.
Well, on the SLC page my loan still says 'awaiting assessment' but on the +ve side my uni emailed Jessica (because I asked to remain anonymous) offering to help so I shall contact them tomorrow and see what can be done but I'm doubtful as I approached them a few weeks ago and there wasn't anything they could do
roxalana, i don't think you need to worry at all☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

Hmm you might be surprised at the power of the press, never know. Either way i reckon you could set a record for the number of weeks of delayed funding! Mine sez 'assessed' now just have to sign a form, send it back, so i'm thinking next week.
Do you mind me asking why you applied late? Just forgot or late uni application?
Yeh i don't think you need to worry either roxalana, the article represents me as the 18 yr old 'student' view...that's alot of insomniacs :rotfl: . I never actually remember saying this lol0 -
hiya flake, I don't mind at all
I was late applying because I was unsure as to whether I was going to go back to uni or not.. I AM a first year but only because I'm having to repeat the year. My daughter was very ill last year and I had to drop out. Then by the time the panel had processed my application to resume my studies etc it was late so I did it as soon as I could. However, I would argue that if they were up to date with all their applications, a late one would whizz through because the bulk would have been done and anyway.. it's now been 12 weeks since I applied and they already have all my info from last year so it ought to be straightforward
You can print off the form rather than waiting for it to arrive by post, thats what someone at the SLC told me anyway
and mine still says 'awaiting assessment' lol☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

lol that is very true! Yeh i think the may deadline is a bit early and unrealistic lots of people are like you and apply to uni later, can't be helped. And it shouldn't take from may to sort everyone out. I mean i applied in may and they had all my info with household income and everything by july thats 4 months ago!! They did not look at it for 3 months. I see no reason for that other than being severely understaffed or very forgetful themselves!
Yes i was told i could print it off too by the lea but i cannot find it anywhere. I'll post it friday anyway.
How are you holding up with uni work and everything, managing to keep up??0 -
you can print it off - I am assuming you applied online and the document you are after is the online signature document. If it is that, you go to correspondence (assuming the screen you log into is similar to mine), The document you are looking for is 'Notification letter'. To look at it I have to click 'GIF'. It should have bits at the front saying your enititlement. Towards the back there should be a page that says something like online signature delcaration that has a place for you to sign. Please note that some of the pages on GIF are blank! That is just bad computer set up rather than you missing anything though!0
