    Rampant Recycler Debt-free and Proud!
    Evening all

I must say that I agree with you all about how OTT all the Chrissy stuff has become.

We just buy cards for neighbours, family and a few long-term friends. I have already given DS some money to buy himself something to wear and we give DH's DD some money to get shoes etc for the DGCs. When we went shopping this week we bought each other a new jumper, but it's just a token kind of thing really.

We have bought ourselves a box of wine from the Ma*l wine club, which arrived today, and saved ourselves £60 plus two free glasses worth £12 :j

We do buy each other a nice soppy card though :rotfl:

So another £4.00 to add from surveys today
Hope you all have a great Wednesday

  • I think its the commercialism I hate so much along with a month of listening to Xmas tunes on a loop at work.

You'd hate a car journey with me then KM. I've had Magic Xmas on DAB radio in the car since about the 5th December :rotfl:

Hey all... not really been doing much as sooo tired. Baby no longer teething as badly and now decided all time sleeping should be cuddled up to me feeding/sucking.. with that and DH generally bad sleeping habits where he is awake frequently in the night reading and playing on devices, I am exhausted... (didn't used to wake me much, but I sleep lighter with baby...)

Decided to take a health visitor's advice to get baby to stop using me to sleep all the time and sleep in his own cot and immediately caved and regretted it! He is a lovely baby that basically never cries, is friendly and happy. DH tried to get him to sleep and he screamed and screamed and not even I could calm him down (until I fed him) :( I thought it was horrible and the health visitor seemed to think we should just keep doing that until he sleeps.. Well I am not up for that... am going to do it my own gentle way as to me he was genuinely distressed. Feel like I should have used my gut instinct on what was right for us.

Anyway... this isn't a mum and baby board! Did some MB yesterday and made £38.78, topped up by 10p from Citizenme.

Jess I could never do that either- its definitely about parenting in a way that is right for you. The only person who is an expect on YOUR baby is YOU. Each child is unique what works for one may not another and what works for someone else is great for them but not necessarily right for you and your child. Trust your instincts.

I know its hard when a baby is waking a lot of constantly needs to be held cuddled etc believe me I do... but nothing lasts forever even if it feels like it at the time. When they have just turned 5 like my beautiful daughter, you might just find yourself missing this time too...there is something very special about being needed/wanted that much and they are little for such a very short space of time- my little girl is constantly reminding me that she is BIG!

Thanks :o I knew I should have trusted my instincts.. am worried whether he'll be ok for nursery in a months time, but trying not to worry about it too much and just do what I can before then. In the meantime a teeny weeny bit of progress in the last 24 hours using my own methods, but of course it means I have even less sleep and am walking around like a zombie..
