Thanks to everyone for their replies.

I didn't want this to be a negative thread about the quality of the clothes etc as I haven't seen them so cannot comment.

However seeing the comparisons photos in IAmWales's reply I'm concerned that one of the websites concerned is breaching photo copyright issues too
  • I think I may just click through to ASA. This isn't my gripe but the fact I followed a few links and was given the "only 8 seconds left to buy" message is not good. Particularly when the items are still there a few minutes later. Oh dear.

    munchpot,

Looking at the items available, the very low prices and the three week shipping time, I might suggest your daughter could get something *very* similar from one of the Chinese sites. ;)

Thanks. It's difficult to convince an 18 year old that these stylish (to her) looking clothes might not be all they seem but the comparisons in your other post will certainly help with that discussion

Sorry to add another comment, but if your clothes are made to order and therefore excluded form the CCR, then why does your website says you only have 12 of the outfit left in that size. If they were made to order you wouldn't have a limit on the number of items available would you?

Limiting is fine, but the adverts I saw are not (because the item was still available after the ad expired).

Hopefully you can gain some insight into how you should be trading and it would be good to see your website confirm to UK legislation.

Lack of knowledge isn't an excuse (certainly after your period of trading) but at least you are seemingly looking to put it right. To add some balance, there are some big High Street stores that have epic fails so you are not alone, but that aside, it is your business and you need to get it right.

Having just tried a dummy order, there isn't anywhere where you ask for my measurements in order you give me the bespoke garment you imply I am ordering. Therefore it isn't "tailored or personalised", which means you must comply with CCR.

Well if that is the case then you may be ok on the returns for change of mind (nothing else). Ideally you need to change your e-cart to something that shows transparency. You still need to change your returns for faulty/damaged goods as that is unlawful.

As has been pointed out, there is much more that IS unlawful. No queries on that. As it stands "your competitors" and how they operate isn't your concern. YOU need to get YOUR website acting within the law. At the moment (custom made items aside) it is FAR from it.

But if you click on the sizing options there are standard sizing 6/8/10 etc AND a made to measure option - I think this is where the problem lies
