Glad some positives are coming out of this. Your littlest reminds me of me when I was little, I would only eat Birds tomato sausages if my mum took the skin off then split them open and removed all boingy bits (I know what I mean by this) then cooked them until they were almost burnt. I was never destined to be a meat eater 🤣
Pleased to hear you’re all doing so well despite everything and hope this continues 🙏I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Anyone else had their shielding extended? Recieved another text yesterday from the GP containing the letter extending our shielding until at least the 17th july. Got to admit I had a mini breakdown over it and couldn't stop crying 😳 not sure why it hit me so much as we've been doing it anyway. I think it's the fact it is getting more and more difficult to keep the smalls entertained and happy. While they can look out the window and see others (breaking the rules) but going out/going shopping etc. All the crafty things and baking etc we have done so far we are running low on bits to do this.
So I think we all had a bit of a harder day yesterday. Think it hit the smalls they wont be going back to school in this school year. DS will be moving up to high school without the settling in days etc and wont be seeing a lot of his friends at school.
Guess that's enough moaning 😳
Hope you're all okay x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”8 -
I guess it hit you because that's basically another 3 months & that's a long time. Into that you have better weather coming & that's when people want to be out & about.
The school thing is hard too especially for those going from P7 to S1. ( I know yours is slightly different)
I think it is becoming harder for most of us and we have not been sheilding in the way that you have.
Keep ploddingxx

Oh that’s a shame but safety is paramount right now. It’s a long time I know, must be disappointing for you. Whatever it takes to keep your little one safe it will be worth it in the end. Stay strong 💪 xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

That's such a shame, it's a long time. Did you manage to get any clarification about your garden?"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5

I did jwil we aren't supposed to go out side at all. At risk of being shot down we have been using the back garden just outside the door. I've had them sat on a blanket and have bleached everything out there before going out. At the end of this 12 weeks we will have been isolated nearly 6 months. I dont think we could not see outside at all in that time. I will feel guilty should we get sick but I do feel we can all only do our best. It's not a shared garden. It had a high fence. They aren't going anywhere near the boundary/fencing literally just sitting outside the back door on a blanket.

I can't see a problem with you going in your own garden. At least you know no one else has been in there to contaminate it and if you keep your distance from neighbours you'll be doing everything you can. As you say you've got a high fence which must offer some protection. It must be hard when the weather is so nice keeping the little one indoors. The advice you are being given sounds ridiculous when you have a safe, secure outside space! I honestly don't know where these people are getting their information from, but it definitely needs to be looked at again! You are doing a brilliant job, so keep doing what you're doing and keep well. I think it's based on we are quite overlooked and and have a public walkway that runs down one side of our house and the back backs on to a communal square that cars can't come through put any persons can. That along with the fact we are probably one of the worst towns for people flouting the rules doesn't help. Street and house parties are still a daily thing etc. The consultant was really stern with his instructions but the respiratory nurse was understanding and said she was sure I'd use my common sense.

Is there any chance that your Consultant can help with getting you moved to a different house? They can do it (or they certainly used to be able to) when it involved medical need. You really can't be expected to lock 3 children in 4 walls for months on end. I'd also try getting back onto your MP about this, any and all help just may get you moved. XX
