Pleased to hear the delivery situation got sorted as it should - disappointing to hear that Sainsbury's are still refusing to accept that someone can be in need of a delivery because someone in the household is vulnerable though. If Asda can manage it I'm pretty sure the rest ought to be able to!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

You totally deserve the slots! It gives you more time to inspire us on here for one thing, which is in itself a public service. Love Humdinger x8 -
I hope the news today that children entitled to a free school meal will now be given a supermarket voucher helps you. It would be brilliant if they give you an Asda voucher - I think they said it was £3 a day per child - you’d be able to stock up every week you have your slot.🤞🤞🤞January spends - £587.587

Still school meals here Milann unfortunately for me. It seems to be a success for the school and others though are doing at least 60 a day.
We got quite a lot of school related things done today. DD finished her skirt too. We baked biscuits and made casserole for dinner. With a couple of extra portions into the freezer. I want to try and get a few more leftovers from the meals frozen so there can be some easier days.
Thank you for all the replies hope you're all staying safe x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”11 -
I don't suppose anyone has a brownie recipe that doesn't have a million ingredients but doesn't turn out like cake? I've tried Google but I'm worried about wasting ingredients 😳 DS wants to make brownies but I'm stumped.

This is my sister's recipe and it's a long time since I tried it so the only guarantee is that she swore by it:
Brownies
4oz butter or margarine
4oz plain chocolate
8 oz sugar
2 eggs
few drops of vanilla essence
4 oz plain flour
Half tsp. baking powder
large pinch salt
Grease an 8" x 12" tin.
Melt butter and chocolate together in a large pan over a very low heat.
Remove from heat, stir with a wooden spoon and mix in the sugar.
Add eggs and a few drops of vanilla essence. Beat well.
Quickly stir in the sieved flour, baking powder and salt.
Spread into tin and cook for 30 minutes at 160C / Gas 3.
Allow to cool - will sink.
Before it's quite cold, cut into squares using an oiled knife.
My sister's version has optional walnuts.

Re the school meals vouchers thing there is a link here that you could copy on to your childrens' school - the provision of vouchers does not affect the school budget and is centrally funded by DFE if schools cannot deliver to the household of the vulnerable adult.
My brownies recipe is similar to Cherryfudge's but less sugar (just because they are too sweet for us), cocoa instead of plain chocolate and I add a bit of optional chilli powder and coffee when I melt the chocolate and marge together, to give it a bit of something elseSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I use the Usborne Children’s cookbook recipe for Brownies.
Melt 6 oz margarine. Pour into a bowl. Mix in 12oz sugar ( I usually use 10). Mix in 3 beaten eggs. Sieve 5 oz plain flour, 1 tsp baking powder and 2 oz cocoa powder into the bowl together with a few drops of vanilla essence. Scrape the mixture into a lined baking tray. Cook at 160 c. I usually cook it for 25-30 mins. I can usually cut into 16 squares, if the teenage boys don’t reach it first😂😋
