It's the fear of the unknown that's worrying everyone. I have elderly parents and as my two year old has a persistent cough, we need to isolate away from them for 14 days. I have the cold so he's now in the spare room with me away from my husband! Our company have implemented working from home as of now but my parents provide our childcare so we don't know what we're going to do. You're right, I think the panic buying will get worse but surely people have to see sense eventually. What size nappies is the little one and I'll see what I can do.8

Try not to cross your bridges before you come to them WF, They are going to have to put measures in place that cover situations like yours and it's your SWs job to implement them. They can't just leave people abandoned. (((hugs)))
We are also going to have to be indoors for the 12 weeks, OH is worried about getting his integral pump refilled with morphine which is due to happen in May and he has to go to hospital to get it done. That in itself is a chore as he's bedridden and I have to use a hoist to get him out of bed and into his wheelchair. I use a vehicle with a lift to get him to places. I've got medical issues myself, which put me at risk, and my son has been staying to help me, but I'm sending him home tomorrow, as we can't have people coming in and out!
I try and take the view that tomorrow is another day, so lets wait and see what it brings.
It's going to be fun and games, but we'll all get through it. X
I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

Well what a complete turn around from our government! I suppose at least having clear guidance backs up your decision re the older two .. but 12 weeks that’s a tough one for anyone in your situation. If anyone can get through this craziness though it’s you. The resilience you show in times of adversity for your smalls is second to none .
You've got this , and when the going gets tough(er) we your cheerleaders are here and will help any way we can

I hope it goes okay Chrystal. It's definitely a scary few weeks ahead with all the unknown.
I actually feel quite lucky. We have received some help etc. I'm in a position I do have things I can pawn should I need to get more prepared for what's ahead.
However there is a few we know through local carers community that they have no access to anything other than the local community centre who is now cancelling many things as it is ultimately the vunerable that access them. Or like us has no one locally who can bring supplies/pop to the shop etc. If we need anything all 4 of us need to go. Be that supplies or appointments etc.
I am trying my best not to panic too much but to prepare as much as I can. It's unrealistic for me to think I can have everything in order for the 12 weeks by Friday when the guidance is more forced (apart from the unexpected things as obviously these can't be planned for) However I am going to try and get as much as I can organised to make going out as little as I can.
I have the grocery slot for tomorrow. So today I'm going to make as detailed list as I can as wise as I can to stretch what we have as long as possible. That's going to be my main focus of today.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”9 -
Hello W
I know you and the wee ones sometimes went to S A and were very generous with your time and when you could money. Have you contacted them to see if anyone could help by popping into the shops or collecting medication. Our local branch has had to stop it’s daily lunch club and other community projects and clubs but they are asking anyone who needs help to contact them. It could save you having to go out with the s all’s.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -

WF I think you can only sit tight and wait for PHE to make contact at this stage - as trying to second guess the implications at this stage is not going to help is it. I for one am very relieved to hear that you have had contact confirming that youngest is considered to be high risk though - at least you now know that your concerns are valid, and not your anxiety playing into the situation. Have you been given a timescale so you know when you can expect that contact?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thank you TF we have been given emergency contacts for SA and another local outreach who have said they will try to help those in need but it's volunteer based. I think SA are going to struggle as a lot of the volunteers here are in the vunerable group themselves.
EH we definitely expected it to come eventually. However the guidance up until these last few days was just youngest to be isolated as much as possible and the older two to carry on while symptom free and the more stringent measures would be expected in at least 3 weeks but more likely 4-6 weeks. It must be a scary time for those on the frontline making these decisions.
Contact from PHE will be over the coming week it will cover the more stringent measures. I assume covering our point of contacts for emergencies etc. (When a line is in situ a raised temperature should still be treated under the sepsis protocol from the start etc.) I think pretty much what we do now will remain the same but our point of contacts will change and we'll be told to contact ahead if we need seeing/have an emergency. I feel like the team have informed me as much as they possibly can to make sure I can be prepared as possible. While I do feel frustrated with the postcode lottery for services I'm very grateful for the ones we do receive and have access too.

Please do make sure that your are scrupulously clear with those who are in contact to support you through this as to your financial situation, and the things that you are struggling to afford. If there is just one good thing that comes from this - it could potentially be your precarious situation and need for further help being underlined to those who are actually in a position in influence change.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

i hope no offence was caused by my previous post . I do really feel for all those who are at the forefront of all the difficult decision making that has to happen on an hourly basis 😔
much love to everyone affected , keep safe one and all8 -
Absolutely no offence here NS - just felt that it was important to correct the myth as it's one that I've been seeing perpetuated quite a lot on various areas of social media.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
