I'm glad you've decided to do some normal Christmas stuff with the smalls. Take it one day at a time xx

And do look into the travel costs reimbursement, might as well take whatever you're entitled to xx

Hi WB :) I think it's normal to question any decisions made, even if at the time you were happy with them. Is there anybody you can talk it through with again? The community nurse maybe?

It's difficult to comment without knowing details and I don't want to sound flippant but if you've been given the go ahead to step away from hospital for a while then I'd really just try to concentrate on having fun and making some lovely memories for the DC's. xx

Pooky I've never successfully got it reimbursed as I don't use the cheapest method to get there. The bus is cheaper. However it doesn't fit around school like the hospital transport. I don't want to give away where we live but the train is less than 20 mins and going on the buses takes nearly 2 hours each way. I will ask again though and explain why I do it the way I do. Thank you

Thank you Tea. Enjoying what we can while we can is the plan :)

The smalls have been spoilt for Xmas. We have the decorations up. We've baked xmas biscuits to take to the SA and care home. We have been crafting and making xmas bits too.

I have some jobs I need to get done today so have set the smalls up with an activity they can do without much input from me.

Tomorrow I have to chase pharmacy deliveries and things to make sure we have enough for over Xmas.

Youngest is still pretty well in herself. Not really sleeping from the increased steroids and been having night terrors - which makes me feel so useless. I was emptying a drawer at 3am just to prove what was in her dream wasn't actually real.

Anyway I have a lot to do so I'm done with my coffee and better get started.

Dinner tonight is chicken casserole with Yorkshire puddings at DS's request.

Hope you all have a good Sunday x

  • Completely agree about the train being best, the bus would take forever , even driving would take ages at this time of year.

I have been reading along but not commented for a while , you have such a grasp on your DD's care and you know what's what .

Love reading about your craft activities and baking. I hope you have lots of happy memories this Christmas WB .

I thought of you today as I walked past the coffee shops in the town and wondered which was the best, the costalot type or a local one.

Enjoy the rest of Sunday .

I would think if the cant reimburse you the train fare they should be able to reimburse you the bus fare if it is cheaper.

Several times when we needed to get a taxi as 2 buses, a train and then 2 buses just to get to the hospital wasn't doable for hubbies pain levels/timings etc, we still asked for reimbursement and got what they priced the cheapest. It didn't cover the taxi fare but at least it eased the financial pressure.

Evening WB :) Crafting and baking is my idea of a perfect weekend. Lovely that you've made things for the SA and care home as well, you've been doing that for a number of years now haven't you :T

Hope you manage to get some money back for the travel, even if they do just cover the cheaper option. I'd get the train as well if it took 20 mins vs 2 hours

I expect it's going to be a busy week for you with school activities. Hope you all enjoy yourselves. xx
  • Hello W

  • Morning

Thank you for all the replies.

Thank you pooky will definitely ask again when we are there.

Yesterday I ended up swapping bedrooms round to make it work better space wise. Going against all mse rules I'm really really tempted to look for a loan/credit card to get the floors and basics sorted. I feel like it makes it so much colder and the dust is never ending which doesn't help youngest. I've turned the heating up and it still feels cold. I know this will probably get a negative response and I know I probably won't do it. But sometimes it just feels like it would be the best way to resolve a few of the issues to make it more comfortable. Like I say this won't happen but I do think about it :o

    Anyway

Today's plans is lots of phone calls. My own appointments to attend. Decide on something for dinner. There's lots on at school this week too.

Hope you all have a good day
