Oh no SL I hope you're okay!

I feel really sorry for him tonight as it just seems to be getting worse :( I will get him seen again first thing. Although when he did finally 'remember' they had cake someone had brought in to school he said it had sesame and things in. So really it could have had anything in  I'm actually quite annoyed about it they shouldn't allow 'baked' cakes to be given out and eaten without asking parents first :o I know that sounds like I'm being ridiculous but if it was youngest it could have been life threatening :(

Anyway we had a real lazy day :o I have no excuse other than it was nice to sit with just DS and watch a movie and chat.

Will have to be up earlier tomorrow to get everything done and DD to school and straight onto the Dr to be there for 9am. Then youngest has an appointment that should have been today and we will need train fare plus now train fare for DS! There's always something! Although I didn't spend the change in my purse for salad so I will use that for DS. I need to cover the uniform cost but I think that's the only 'unexpected' expense coming out of tomorrow's budget. Need to make pack lunches for DS and youngest for tomorrow. Will go and do that before I forget.

Hope ds feels ok. It’s a good job you had a lazy day as if it’s viral he might feel a little out of sorts if he does too much.
Hope it’s a dry day tomorrow when you have to go out and about - I’m sick of the cold and rain.

Poor DS. Did they give him an anti-allergen at the hospital or just tell you to keep an eye on it?

I'm surprised school allow cakes to be taken in and eaten in class. Mine could take sweets or chocolate but they were handed out at the end of the day so the parents could see what they'd got. They eventually put a stop to that though as school decreed the children were going home with sweets or chocolate too often. Personally I thought that was a bit OTT - on average there's probably one birthday a week in a class. :o Instead they came up with the idea of the birthday child buying a book for the teacher to read in class, which nobody did. I'm sure the teachers were relieved, imagine having to read 30 birthday books out loud on top of everything else they have to get through :rotfl:

Hope the appointment goes well tomorrow. xx

Every school should have a photographic display in the staff room detailing any children with known allergies, particularly those needing epi pens. At work we have a few children with allergies and intolerances but when birthday cakes come in, most parents are aware and provide a different treat for those who can't have the cake,

    Morning,

Just a quick pop in why we are waiting for DS to be seen. He's so much worse today :( He's having piriton every 4 hours since Wednesday evening!

    Everyone else okay

It's a bit of a rush today. Paid whats needed and wrote our shopping list etc. Paid school for the uniform £26.95 - need to write it down so can add to my diary when home. Going to try and squeeze it all in today then we can have a lazy weekend.

    Have a lovely day

Morning WB :) Poor DS, whatever it was has really affected him hasn't it.

Nice to read you're on top of everything and able to pay for the extras that seem to be popping up left, right and centre at the moment. How's the meter fund coming along. Do you still need that by mid May or have you managed to put it back a little bit.

Hope the appointments all go well. You'll be ready for a quiet weekend after all this rushing around. xx

Poor DS! Would the school collaborate with you to find out exactly what was in that cake? It's clearly something to avoid... and the school will need to know so they can avoid him being exposed to it again. I think you mentioned sesame which is one of the things that has to be notified by law on food that is sold and if the school provides food I would have thought they have a moral obligation to alert people to allergens, even if they didn't sell the food (they were the channel through which it was provided, IYSWIM).
Hope he's a lot better soon.

I have been involved in agreeing Departmental Birthday Celebration Policies for supposedly competent adults after ridiculous dramas (including over allowance of cake, signatures on cards and 'but she only got a bigger card because he fancies her, everyone hates her really"), so frankly I'm surprised the school doesn't just announce that kids and staff get a round of Happy Birthday To You in class and anything else gets sorted outside their gates :rotfl:
