Sorry its been a rubbish day, I know you said you didn't want to post details but I'm hoping you DO have somewhere/someone that you can take it to and have a vent?

Hope you can have a quiet family weekend and fit in some afternoon napping!

It's just rubbish. Really rubbish. We will have quite a lot of appointments coming up at the children's hospital. Came back from our appointment to a hand delivered note from the baliffs over the 'new' old council tax so have them to deal with who are refusing a payment plan even though the council said the baliffs would let me the other day but now say it's up to the baliffs and they won't take it back at the council because it's been ongoing for so long. So spent all afternoon. Going round in circles. I really don't know what I'm going to do.

In other news his fines etc that are all unpaid have agreed to remove my address now as he isn't on the tenancy here. We've never had anything other than the house and CT in joint names so all his other debt issues are not my problem anymore (I always struggled to prove it before but now I have the new tenancy and court order removing him I now have proof)

Smalls are all in bed and Im going to join them.

Thank you again and have a lovely weekend

    x

Sorry to hear the meeting about the youngest wasn't great. Is there any sort of support group available to you for her condition?

What's happened with the CT, I thought it had all been sorted?

Glad you've been able to offload OH's debts, let him sort them out.

Chin up and take care xx

Aw, W, I'm so sorry that yet something else has landed on your plate for you to deal with. I really don't understand why or how they can do this since they took so long to contact you about the outstanding arrears anyway. But I don't really know much about these things legally so hopefully someone who does will come along here and give you some advice.

I'm glad you have finally managed to disassociate yourself from OH. At least that's one thing off your mind.

Hope someone can provide you with some positive advice. xxx

  • I wouldn’t worry too much about the bailiffs, WF. From what you say I don’t think even if you gave them access to your house there is anything they could legally take. Look up the CAB page on what powers bailiffs have and I think you will probably find that there is nothing they can take. I would explain this and your financial circumstances to them and they will realise that the payment offer you are proposing is the best that they can possibly hope for and will accept it. If this is also your ex’s debt you may want to point this out to them and give them his details as he may have goods they could legally seize.

Morning WB :) Hope the CT situation gets sorted out. Can you contact the bailiffs and speak to them or is it a case of waiting for them to knock on the door?

Hope you and the smalls have a nice weekend and you manage to get out for a bit of fresh air. xx

    Morning

Thank you for all the replies

That's why I'm not too worried V because even if they come in (other than them adding fees) I've nothing of any value except our bed :rotfl: I'm going to offer them an amount and weekly payments going forward hoping they accept. Will also speak to the council on Monday. Trying not to let it ruin the weekend. This is the only joint debt left. My name or address isn't on anything else anymore - lucky really as he hasn't been paying even his court fines.

The weather is dry although not very warm we will definitely get out for a walk today. Fresh air will do us all some good!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend x
