Ask them what's the minimum they can accept. If they come back with 'what's do you think you can afford or similar' ask them what the minimum amount their guidelines allow them to accept is.
Tell them that's more than you can afford, but you will do your best.
Also tell them about your poorly child and all your other debts.Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20

Bed time? I'm sure it is... however I've been offline since early afternoon and came back to 48 messages on this thread and just had to catch up. What a fabulous lot of friends you have here, Wannabe!
I think it all comes out as: make the phone calls you can make - tomorrow. The things you can't do anything about can jolly well wait a bit. Meanwhile, can you find some way to unwind while you get the chance (presuming kiddies are asleep)? The disadvantage of the middle of the night is that our minds conjure up all sorts of stuff and our bodies are at their least resilient. However the advantage is that nothing changes financially so we can stop fighting fires on that front.
Night night. (Before PB does thisagain at us).

I am sitting here knitting. That and crochet are supposed to slow me down but sometimes I just get competitive with myself to do 'just one more row'! Suduko or Solitaire are pretty good 'slowers down' too. I have all the apps!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

So you have tax credit arrears too?
Or are you just phoning them to confirm that you are getting the correct amount

Morning
Hope the smalls are well and all in school today.
No wonder you're struggling. The difference between what you got when DLA was awarded and then stopped is huge. It's £120 less every week just on child tax credit, let alone the DLA and carer's being withdrawn.
Is that right or is the amount you get for tax credits connected to DLA/carers being awarded.
The positive to all this is when it gets re-instated and backdated you're going to have a few nice lump sums coming your way through their stupid decisions. Not that in any way that makes up for the way you're having to struggle through at the moment. x0 -
No Beanie. Not when the DLA is sorted I don't they've taken the disability bits off why there's no DLA. So now I've been 'overpaid' but once the DLA is sorted I'd have been entitled to it
Hope that makes sense“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0
