Glad the appointment went ok. What a lovely thing to do re the biscuits and cards for the nursing home, you have such caring considerate children they're a real credit to you :)

  • Morning (just)

Wow what a rubbish morning! Ended up crying at school  Anyway I didn't get to see the nativity this morning but I am going at 5pm. So all the plans have been switched around.

Had an argument with the GP and Pharmacy over 'money' and them wanting to switch something because of the cost. Luckily the Respiratory team have come to my aid and have backed me fully and are getting it sorted. MEH!

Anyway I'm having a coffee to calm down now before I explode :rotfl:

  • It's a constant battle TF. Really should look at changing Dr's after Xmas but it's quite a bit further away to a different one. Luckily it should be sorted once the Resp team have sent stern words across... We are using something that's unlicensed in children. The particular one she has now is licensed for age 12 and over where as what they want to give is licensed for over 18. Their argument is neither are licensed so the 'cheaper' one is what they will give. The Resp team's argument is the other has at least been tested in children age 12 and above (considering DD is 4!) Wish they could just all talk to each other more often and sort it without it being such a fight  I do understand they need to cut costs but still!

School is just school. They are so unhelpful. I had to leave DD1 crying this morning because they wouldn't let DD2 come to the nativity with me  as she was off school, I lost my temper it isn't like she is contagious. You can't catch anything from her. Feel like I need to make another me just to get everything done :o

That turned into a huge rant :o

No it didn't. Those in "authority" should be more flexible and considerate of people's needs.

I can't believe either of those things I've just read Wannabe. What is wrong with people these days.

I am so glad your resp team seems to have some common sense. It makes my blood boil to think of them arguing over money for medication a young child needs when so much is wasted elsewhere in the NHS.

The school situation is disgraceful. It's obvious DD isn't your average child health wise. Surely a little compassion could have been shown. And to stick to their guns meaning your other DD was left crying is terrible. I'm afraid I'd have just taken them both home and that's not something I'm just saying. I've kept DS off school over a certain situation in the past. It's surprising how quickly they want to talk to you and resolve things when their attendance averages are affected. Covered myself by ringing the Education Authority, who couldn't believe what I was telling them.

Hope the day got better for you :o xx

I'd be spitting nails in your position!

Have you spoken to the Education Authority about any of this? The constant asking for money and the insensitivity of the school regarding DD2 is something that really needs to be addressed.
Your life is difficult enough without them adding to it. (((hugs)))

I have put in a complaint. I'm not willing to let it go this time :o I feel like they think I'm being stupid over something 'little' It might seem little to them but they don't realise how much the older two already miss out on because of youngest. How many times I haven't been able to attend things because she's been too poorly to go etc. So I'm really still annoyed. I will go tonight but now I have to take youngest and DS anyway. So what's the difference? Stupid. Really stupid. I've requested new transfer forms and will consider just moving youngest until there is space for the other two or even just other DD. DS only has 18 months left anyway. There's spaces at the other school for youngest and I worked there long enough to know they are much better for her. I only stuck with this school because youngest had made some friends in nursery and knew the teachers. The wrong decision :o

Nothing else has happened today though :o :rotfl: Still have headache (any wonder why ) so we've just sat on the sofa all day reading books and simple things.

3 more school days to go :D

Hi Wannabe - so sorry to hear about your day. The attitude of your school is appalling. I think you said that it was an academy, in which case there will be a board of trustees for the academy trust. They act as the governing body for the academy, in much the same way as the LA does for a non academy school. I would write to them to set out your concerns, particularly because there seems to be no flexibility with regard to your youngest's health condition and the fact that they are not being inclusive on a number of grounds (health, finance, lone parent). I would send a copy to the Headteacher and the Chair of Governers and wait for a reaction.

No wonder you have a headache. Not long to the holidays...
