WF just trying to catch up. Try applying for family fund for DD. They used to provide driving lessons to help the parents get the child around. Not sure if they still do but there might be something else they could help provide you with. You could claim something once a year but think it was 2 years if they did the driving lessons.

ETA. I've just had a look and they no longer provide driving lessons but there may be something else they can help you with for DD.

    Hello W
I thought you did drive. Don't know where I got that idea from. I tried to learn many years ago and although I wasn't too bad just freaked out when I had to sit the test. That's me though - just couldn't handle the pressure!!! Fortunately I live in the city with lots of free public transport and both Himself and I manage quite well but there are times that I think it would be good if I did have licence. Our fiends thinks so too because I don't mind not drinking whilst somebody else has to forego the pleasure. Good luck, though, another string to your bow.

Congratulations on learning to drive, Wannbe - the taxi drives will be weeping, though, once you have passed! :D

I hope things carry on going well for you. You seem happier but busy, recently. :)

    Thank you :)

Things are so busy! and youngest is unwell again! No change there though eh  This time no one knows why. Highly likely it's one of her meds. However there isn't an alternative so we have to try and ride it out and see if it settles. Easy for them to say. Not so easy when you're trying to comfort a very upset 4 year old rolling around in pain at 3am, crying she's scared because it hurts so much.

In other news 9lb of at fat club :D First week is always the best but I'll enjoy the feeling why it's there!

DS has a school trip on Thursday and youngest is supposed to have her first school trip Friday however if there isn't a big improvement we won't be going (£25 wasted )

    Hi W,

Sorry to hear youngest is ill again, poor wee soul.

Good luck with your driving lessons, I hope you enjoy it. :T I had terrible nerves so it took until my 4th test before I passed & my sister took 5 tries. My whole left leg would shake so badly I could hardly press the clutch!:rotfl:

I'm sure you'll be fine though, it's so worth doing for the freedom & convenience, I'm glad I kept going & eventually passed. :)

Well done losing 9lb! I was all pleased with myself for losing 1lb. :rotfl:

  • Sorry to hear your DD is unwell, I hate going through the medication change song and dance as an adult so can't even imagine what the poor lamb is feeling at 4 yo :(

Great news about the driving lessons! That will help so much :) I agree with other posters, do investigate if you are entitled to any help with lessons or a car. I seem to remember that my mum got something as my dad is on DLA (this is yonks ago though so it has probably all changed!)

Hope the wee one is a bit better. is there any chance that you could get help with driving lessons because of her medical needs?
