Evening

Good day today, not really anything exciting just good all round. I've found myself keep stepping on the scales though!
I need to bin them and stick to going to fat club and weighing once a week!
Smalls have a birthday party tomorrow so I ordered Father's day cards at the same time as ordering a card for the party (£10.47
spent!) Will just put money in the card for the birthday girl.
I'm really struggling with the grocery budget  It seems impossible to keep it low and definitely something I need to improve!
Hope everyone is well

It's just something I have never done.
They work for some and not for others!
I know a few families with very small kids that use a crate because the dog knows that if she wants a peaceful five minutes, the kids won't bother her there. But that's mainly because the kids understand "don't touch the dog in her crate" more than "lip licking, ears back, tense face and low wag are all signs of unsettled dog, please stop doing whatever it is you're doing".
My sister's family use the crate while they're out because they're open plan and the lab can open the fridge... :rotfl:
They're not for everyone, but as part of a proper routine don't really inconvenience or bother the dog.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

We have a crate for the puppies, precisely so that they have an area that they and the children know is for them. In a busy household, I think it works well. The door is open for them to go in and out...paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Throw the scales away and only weigh in at fat club, their scales are calibrated regularly and will be more accurate than domestic scales. Weighing in once a week is enough.
My cat used to sleep in the dog's crate to get away from the dog :rotfl:I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Evening, well nearly morning

Had a lovely weekend
No major spends, DS had his hair cut and the three of them had a birthday party Friday. We had a quiet weekend in the garden the weather has been lovely again! Smalls back at school tomorrow
I hate school :rotfl: On the 6 week countdown to the summer holidays
Mr Sainsbugs coming in the morning 7am  with this weeks shop. I think the amount we are spending recently I am keeping Mr Sains in business  It's ridiculous! Although there is £10 on compost and £8 on plant pots. In theory I could have got these cheaper in town however I simply cannot be trusted to go into town and pick just those 2 things up!
I have loads to sort this week, I have a few things I need to update details on and I need to get provisional licenses etc. This will be another added weekly expense on to the budget but I've sat and pondered so much and looked at what we spend on public transport/taxi's and even on the quieter months running a car works out less. Youngest now has 2 more regular appointments over in the big city adding in more train fares as the bus takes too long!
Have two school trips to pay for tomorrow. All spend spend spend

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Driving is a big initial outlay but (as a non-driver!) I'm sure it will save you so much time and expense in the long run. In fact as a lot of it will be for youngest, I think you could legitimately use some of 'her' money for it - think how much easier it will be to get to her appointments and how you will reduce the stress on both of you as well as the cost of taxis.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living.
