Pressed the return key then before I'd finished. As for the dress, I thought I looked pretty good, at least I'd remembered to put something on my bottom half, something which a lot of the youngsters failed to do. Some of their dresses were so short.... Is that a sign of getting old?
Have had a really depressing weekend where I've done very little but mope around the house. Am really jealous of all you people who are redecorating, decluttering and selling stuff on e-bay etc0 -
I know what you mean about the skirts GR. Mind you I can remember when I was about 17 and mum made me a ra-ra skirt, do you remember those.:D I don't think it was very short though.
'Lewis' has got 5 stars in our paper so should be good.
Weekends can be a bit like that GR, I think it's because we work all week and then come weekend it's like...'well what are we going to do' iyswim and if there's nothing doing it feels a bit wasted. Well that's how I feel sometimes. As I said before GR, warmer weather just round the corner and we'll soon be sunning ourselves.
Enjoy this evening hun.

Ra-Ra skirts. Oh god a flash from the past. I was quite podgy as a child and I insisted on having a ra-ra skirt and I looked like a little beech-ball.
I can't wait for the nicer weather. Am desperate to hoover out the car, its a disgrace, too cold at the moment though. Soon be summer0 -
Oh the dreaded Monday morning!!!!! Got a busy day today and parents evening for DS tonight..... Have made my packed lunch for today so have started the week off on a positive money-saving front. This week I AM GOING to contact the Halifax about the secured loan. Have decided to do that tomorrow night as I've got nothing on tomorrow. Really don't think they are going to agree to it but I'm going to give it a go!
Hope you all have a good start to the week. x0 -
My one aim for the coming week is to contact the Halifax regarding the secured loan and I've done it. I'm well happy with that as I was dreading going through the 45 minute application. Am just waiting for them to get back to me and we'll have to see. I'm not pining much hope on this as I've got a gut feeling that it's not going to come through for me!
ALso the car boot sale is cancelled next Saturday so when I get back from parents evening I'm going to list a few more books on Amazon. I really must get rid of them now.0 -
Hiya GR...
Good luck with the halifax. You do get things done don't you. Wish I was as dynamic as you.
Hope parents evening was ok. I've just come back from a meeting for parents about options for DS. Not many parents were there though, mind you the weather is horrible. Just having my tea now as I type.
Going to watch some past episodes of 'Come dine with me' on catch up tv later. I do like that programme.
Don't know about you GR but I'm a bit bored at the moment.
Seem to be in a constant rush with everything and getting nowhere!
I had a bit of a clean out of the car the other day, this entails throwing everything in a bag and spraying a bit of polish around. You're right it'll be summer before we know it and then we'll be looking at the christmas threads, this year should be a good one though GR with all our determination we're showing.:D

Good evening Diz, sorry not many people turned up to your parents evening. I always make the effort with the schools as I like to know what's going on. Parents evening was very good and there were lots of people who turned up. It's all about options that DS has to take for GCSE. Can't believe my baby is thinking about his career!!!!
I've just been on-line to renew my home and contents insurance and I'm well chuffed with the deal I've had. It's £163 cheaper than my current insurer, I get £50 cashback from the Post Office and as I went through Quidco I get £27 cashback. Before using this site I was a customer of the CIS for years and years. I never shopped around and just renewed when the documents arrived. Can't believe how competitive the industry is.
I've just had a frozen meal (it's too late to cook and I'm starving so couldn't wait for anything else) and just going to jump in the bath as I smell of the NHS. Be back in a while.0 -
The Head said last year the hall was full. Maybe the weather put them off...
Don't our little ones grow up fast? DS is more or less sure of what he's taking. This was just some information about the choices. Mind you I could easily have fallen asleep during it.I said choose options that you're going to enjoy, that way you're sure to get a better grade and enjoy it. He can then choose something career wise when he chooses his subjects for college. Life's hard enough these days for them isn't it?
Well done on the quidco. I've had £27 back from Greasypalm and still have £15 floating in there but they don't send a cheque for less than £25 so will have to see if I can boost it up.
Have to come off here now. I want to watch 'come dine with me' but DD got it earmarked for 'shameless' or 'skins' one of them anyway. Neither are my cup of tea so will have to do something else.
Keep well.

Good morning all. Well I'm still feeling very positive today and I've been transferring little bits of money into the ISA over the last couple of days. Am not going to check the total until the very last day of February though and hopefully it'll be a nice surprise!!!!!
Am hoping the Halifax are going to come through for me with regards to the secured loan, it should save me a little bit every month, even if it's £50 I'll be happy with that.
Have done a packed lunch for today so I've started the day off well. Must remember to phone Zurich and tell them I won't be renewing my house and contents insurance with them. Will try and get that done before I leave for work then it'll be done with.
Hope you all have a good day.0
