Afternoon all,
Nothing much happening in mean mansions to-day...enough ham etc left from yesterday to feed OH and me, nobody else here for dinner. Must stew some apples...maybe have with custard...found some pastry in fridge, so might make small tarte tatin just put in more sugar as all eating apples are gone.
Hilstep...congratulations and best wishes for your happiness.
Have done one wash and it is on line...even an hour there makes a difference to the length of time it takes to dry and it smells nicer too.
Brother went to LA yesterday to visit elder son, who is a helicopter pilot and instructor..he met him at LAX in helicopter, which was a big treat for brother...never been to West US before so seeing LA by night must have been something....the idea is nearly enough to encourage me to take a special trip but not really bothered about going to US again...what am I talking about anyway, trying to put money together for OZ so US is not a runner.
Pen Pin...only caught up on week's posts last night...so incensed about mongrel sending you nasty pm....we like to know how you're getting on and I certainly admire your spirit. Know that you are now in hospital so won't see this, but trust that this visit will help you in the long term...lots of hugs.
Tired Mum, sorry that things are not good and hope that they work out for you soon.
Hugs to all in need....and congratulations to anyone who is celebrating anything.
Have a nice day

Hello everyone that's been and still to come
:grouphug:Hugs for everyone especially PenPin.
Nicola1982, if you can't be naughty when pregnant when can you?
Been quite OS for me, by 9am this morning I had a batch of hob nobs on the go and I've also hoovered downstairs, brushed the kitchen floor and hoovered upstairs. Didn't do the stairs as I hate doing it, leave it to DH.
DH fed DD solids for the first time today, it was everywhere :rotfl: had to change her clothes and put them to soak as it was sweet potato, parsnip and carrot. He's only had to wait 6 months to feed her.
I'm having chicken chow mein for tea, got the noodles and a chow mein sauce, just need to pop to Mr T's and get some veggies to go in as well. DH at work until 10pm so he's finishing off last night's shepherds pie when he comes home - run out of tubs to freeze things in.

Coooooeeeee...............am I still allowed in?:D
Well I've sneaked in and now I pledge my O/S goodness to you.:T
Had a cracker of a Friday night by sorting out a mountain of paperwork  , filing an awful lot to the bin/recycling. I feel perged! :j I also feel I relieved I didn't miss a vital bill or appointment despite my lack of organisation.:D (I did have a cheeky glass or 2 of rose;) )
So made a good start on my growing washing pile today, could've done with a reasonable amount of sunshine to aid drying but never mind its safe hanging in the utility room.
I've spruced the bathroom, sorted the freezer out for next weeks on the run meals and going to do a little cooking this afternoon to leave the boys something for tomorrow............as I'm off out...............shopping!!!!
:j :j :j
Love a little shop!:D
All on me!:j
and hopefully a little lunch stop too! Yippeeeee!:j
is there time to make a banana cake............or 2?:A One for my O/S friend and I have to leave the boys 1.:T
*it seems I can get away with almost murder if I leave a banana cake for them*
Any tips for me on freezer meals would be appreciated.
Have a good day ya'all! :TPanda xx

Afternoon all; first time on here today - woke up late due to another night of coughing. Have been out and done the big food shop and posted a book that sold on Amazon yesterday, for £12, so that cheered me up.
CRAZY - congratulations to DS and DD; my DGS was voted onto his school council this term and he's so pleased. I think it's such a good idea.
TAPLADY - Happy Birthday to your Mum! :bdaycake: Like you, I can't wait for the dancing tonight and neither can DH - for some reason!! I wonder why? I also saw Riverdance years ago, at the Hammersmith Apollo - I love it; I've got the video and still watch it now and again; DGS loves to watch it, too.
HILSTEP - Congratulations, that's fantastic news.:j :T
NICOLA - (((hugs))) to you.
Well, after a few weeks of kicking his heels, DH (he's self-employed, which brings it's own set of unique worries!) has secured work for months ahead, painting pubs! Suddenly, he's having to turn work down and it's a long time since he's been in that position. He starts on Monday which means I get a lot more free time to get my projects done, especially the things I want to do for Christmas. I can plan my time so much better when I'm on my own.
I'm hoping to go back to the gym on Monday but I still feel exhausted from this cold. I don't think the coughing at night is helping, but I really want to go back. I might just go and do one circuit and see how I am after that. At last, I have got my appetite back - it's always the first thing to go when I'm ill. I have treated myself to a huge bar of Cadbury's Turkish Delight which I'm saving to have after dinner while I'm watching Strictly and the rugby. I even went off chocolate for almost two weeks.
I've hung the washing out but it's just hanging there - it's gloomy and dank here but I am trying to resist putting the tumble dryer on. I may have to tomorrow, if it doesn't dry today.
I must colour my hair as well; it's desperate. My DH puts the colour on for me because he's got far more patience than I have, so I think we'll do that tomorrow. I also need to go to the bottle bank tomorrow. I've neglected such a lot of things this last couple of weeks and it's annoying me now.
Well, I'm off to make a cuppa. I hope everyone is having a great day.
(((hugs))) to all, including PENPIN and JACKIEO. I wonder how they are?

Oooh! My hm blackcurrant vodka was ready for drinking today. I just opened it and tried some and...it was lovely! A bit too sweet, but very blackcurranty. I was a bit surprised that I liked it, as I don't like Absolut Kurrant.
Spurred me on to make the Christmas Pudding vodka, which is now sitting maturing in the cupboard, next to the Quince vodka. I have a friend who can't bear the texture of Currants/Sultanas, so I'm hoping this will give her the Christmas Pudding taste without the texture.0 -
Afternoon everyone, Congratulations Hilstep thats lovely news also hope you enjoy the concert.
Not done alot today oh decorating got i a bit of fruit /veg in . Really need to do some decluttering might make a start once i'v sorted tea out.
hugs to everyone who needs them .

afternoon!
had a busy day so far, got my new pine table and chairs, also got a computer workstation for a tenner!
Have advertised my old table for sale , no luck yet. DH and DS1 have just took my old hi-fi cabinet and tv unit to a local charity as we need the space.
Have managed to do the ironing but couldn't peel the spuds with my wrist so DHs got to do them later, I was thinking my wrist was a lot better but I just couldn't peel the spuds and felt a twinge or 2 lifting the tea-pot so must remember to use my good wrist!
Am popping to see Mum later as its her Birthday, at the moment she's out at standard Bearers Practise - she carries the big standard(flag) for the British legion and has marched for the Queen lots of times.
have got the footie on but its the Rugby I'm looking forward to, all those big muscley(sp) men:o !:D
Shez and Mioliere - I've seen Riverdance twice now but the show last night was much more intimate and it was exciting to see it all close up!
Off to put the kettle on, have a lovely evening - enjoy the Turkish delight mioliere!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
congratulations hilstep :j
bit cloudier here today but dry, went to tesco early and got a cat goody bag some of the £1 things were reduced so got a stapler and hole punch for 25p
have done all kyles washing so just two lots to iron now, they are still having a good time but very hot there, they went to the magic kingdom but too tiring for ds1 so were going to get a buggy for him and go back again

Hi Folks! No OS here today, or anything else I'm afraid. Had intended a trip down to Dorset to see Mum, but woke at 3am feeling very sick...shan't give too much info, but def not a good idea to visit a hospital! Have just resurfaced for an hour or so, but will be going back to bed shortly....
Congrats to Hilstep - great news! I like hearing about weddings!
Didn't know about PenPin, must reread a few back threads, but hope she gets on ok.
Mioliere, don't overdo it at the gym, you'll set yourself right back. Good that you're feeling better tho'
Congrats to all celebrating and ((Hugs)) if you need one.Resolution:

Hi there
Just wanted to pop on to say that things fine here at the moment. I am doing what hospital said and carrying on a normal life without going crazy (which I must admit I have been doing!) Not really reading the thread at the moment as I feel there are things here which have been getting me down which need to be dealt with. Have set myself a 'to do' list for the next week and once each thing ticked off, having a sit down. It is doing my morale no end of good. Have been neglecting my diet and sometimes not eating properly but DH is making sure I have 3 meals a day instead of just my main meal in evening.
Just tackling one room at a time and cleaning it makes me feel good. We are going to sort out the loft this week and have arranged a special uplift for Friday coming. DH going to do the heavy work - I just need to say what goes out. This morning he brought me down copious notes, assignments and text books from when I did my HNC a few years ago. I sat in the study catching up with Emmerdale on ITV2 and it only took just over an hour to sort stuff out into the recycling for Monday and the shredder (done!). I have talked about doing this for at least two years now as the syllabus has changed and my stuff now no use to anyone else. The sense of satisfaction is fantastic. Also have 5 leverarch files to re-use!
Can I just say that I am so thankful that on the whole I am reasonably healthy although I have had this scare. There are some of you who have to cope with illness and pain every day and my thoughts are very much with you.
Off to Costco tomorrow. One of you dear people mentioned kitchen roll comes off offer tomorrow so instead of next week have brought this forward. We also need orange juice and the offer for this (3 for 2) finishes tomorrow too. Yes, you have guessed, the excess goes up into the loft for storage!
Thank you all for your good wishes and mentions on the thread and in pms. I really appreciate it.
I see we have a wedding in the offing. I can offer up my two huge wedding planner files from DD's wedding and what I want to know is where are we meeting for the Hen do?????????
Thanks again for all your support - much appreciated.
Love and Hugs to you all.
