Morning all............(((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) if you need them, congrats Hilstep............
I had a decent nights sleep last night, feel a bit better this morning thankfully although you would not think so to look at me, the face is rather pasty.....
Nothing planned, a quick trip to the library, OH has 5 books in and I have 3, also need to go to Wilkos for a couple of soap dishes that stick onto tiles, fed up with the gunk on the bath and sink................
The tens machine seems to have worked for OH his back is a lot easier and he managed to out his socks on this morning, a rather queer side effect seems to be that his bowels, which he does have trouble with, seem to have freed up, sorry..................but he does seem to be 'going' better.
Its really dank and dull this morning, I am so pleased we have an upstairs apartment, we have a double window in our sitting room, most of the downstairs ones have only a single window......it makes a big difference.
I managed a quick trip to Tesco yesterday, we needed fruit, I bought a loin of pork reduced, so am going to cook that tomorrow fo supper and then slice whats left and keep it in the freezer against times when I need something quick.......
Not sure if we will get to the lottie tomorrow, but I have green beans in the freezer so we will not go hungry, I also bought more apples back yesterday, so apple sauce will be on the menu.
Right off for now......see y'all later.............

in our asda its on the same shelf (bottom shelf of fridge) as the other beef roasting cuts like silverside. its labelled brisket or for pot roasting I think. you get a big bit for around a £5.
my kids love it, but dont expect it to be like a roast beef from the oven. its very tender and tasty. I have problems with it being too tender and difficult to carve. it kind of falls apart, but it is so tasty even if it doesnt look pretty. if you cool and then carve it does cut better.x x x0 -
Congratulations Hillstep. Also had no sleep, baby 1982 decided playtime was 3am until 6.30am. Yesterday I developed a UTI, meaning a call to the emergency midwife, run up to the Drs with 10 mins to go and eventually antibiotics.

Congrats Hilstep! That's wonderful news xxxxx
Well, I'm on weekend 1 of 2 without the parents. And also on Saturday morning working (why don't we just shut down the website over the weekend).
I've got to pop to Morrisons later, pick up some fresh supplies but might leave it till mid afternoon in the hope that I can get some cheapies. Taking Molly the Trolley (gorgeous pink 'R' style Rolser for those in the know...fanks mummy and daddy for my b'day present lol) out for her first solo run on public transportAlthough was worried for her safety last night....I've just bought my dad's car from him (04 reg C3 - it's so pretty lol) and had one of my neighbours come round last night. Apparently someone was rather interested in it. They chased him off and the nice lady moved my car into somewhere better lit for me (I can't actually drive yet lol). I live in a police estate so it's teeming with coppers here (My dad is one), the traffic centre and fire station are also on the same estate (so whoever it was was an idiot!). They sorted out patrols and kept an eye on my car...but I had to go and rescue Molly out of the boot as I was worried for her safety!
Not much OSing going on at the moment. I'm cooking from scratch, but it's hardley inspired. I've finally convinced my sister that chips with the skins on are just as tasty as I'm getting seriously fed up with peeling spuds of late. Although I best make croquettes, as they're her fave.
Decided that I'm going to make an 'ipod' cake for dad's b'day. Just trying to work out how now lol - it's not til mid nov, so I have time. Fed the xmas cake yesterday. I'm so proud, looks greatAnd finally found a website/shop that stocks cake and chocolate making stuff at a reasonable price - I'll be spending money after payday me thinks lol.
Hope you have a good one all!

Congratulations Hilstep! Have you set a date? Will it be an OS wedding? I'm sure there used to be a thread either here or on one of the other MSE boards about it.
DLB Sorry to hear about your baking disaster.
Crazychick Congratulations to both your kids, what great news!
<<PenPin>>Thinking of you in hospital. Hope it's going well.
Csarina I'm really interested to hear about the Tens machine working. I might try that if my back keeps playing up. At the moment, stretching exercises are really helping, but I can foresee that it won't work for long.
And a <<hug>> for you if you would like one.
Went to see Rory Bremner last night, ended up sitting in the front row on one of the stage floor seats so we might be on TV tomorrow. Was quite a long evening - they were still writing some of the material, so they started late, and Rory had problems with one of the monologues so (unusually for him) he had to do it several times. Had to remember to laugh like it was the first time.
The two Johns are the subject of Sunday's SOuth Bank Show (TSBS), with a special "George Parr" interview. We don' normally watch TSBS, but we will de3finitely watch this week.
Gorgeous day here today. Yesterday we dug over the new raised beds (well, DH did that and I dug out one bin of compost for him, then turned the compost from another bin into the empty one). Today DH is making a start on extending the fruit bed by building the extended frame for the fruit cage. We're using copper pipe, which he has painted dark green. We still have to dig out the extended bed bit, that will probably be a job for next week.
Chicken pie for dinner tonight, i;m going to use suet crust pastry which goes surprisingly well. I will debone the chicken thighs as soon as they are defrosted.
I still haven't got round to making Christmas Pudding vodka, so I might do that this weekend. The blackcurrant vodka should be ready for tasting, so I might try that this evening as well.
WM on, will put the DW on as soon as the washing's done. We don't have good enough water pressure to have both on together.
Not much else going on, so I'll stop now and wish you all a superb Saturday!0
