Good morning all
Chilly, damp and misty here in Huyton this morning - even the cat is refusing to shift his lazy a%s out the door today. (Where I live you have to keep your cat IN at night - too many two-legged predators around here for feline safety!)
Late last night I managed to get DS1 to take me for an ASDA midnight ramble - that is such a rare treat. Love it when the shop is so quiet - only drawbacks are that some of the shelves are empty and there aren't many whoopsies. Stocked up on some more veggies - spuds and leeks and a stew pack - gave son an old-style shopping lesson in the process.
Crazychick, mags, Amie - sorry to hear about your OHs and their snoring problem. Unfortunately it's a problem in reverse here. I'm the one who snores but Mr.Ollie just digs/kicks me and tells me to stoppit - how the heck do I do that??? So you ladies have Mr.Ollie's sympathies this time.
Crazychick - congrats to the children on their achievements - my DGD1 has also made school council and is like a dog with two-tails. Think this may do wonders for her confidence.
Mags - it's strange when they fly the coop isn't it - why they call it empty nest syndrome - but enjoy your newfound freedom. Mine have now done it sooooo many times that I'm getting used to that feeling (that last bit should tell you this does not mean that she may not fly back again at some time in the future - for one reason or another. The worst bit is forgetting to cater for one less in the kitchen department. Then again that isn't always necessary as they often have a habit of 'just dropping by' round about mealtimes!!!!!
Amie - congratulations on the comp win - maybe the BIG ONE next time :j.
N9eav - I used to love fishing trips with my kids when they were younger - they were so well-behaved (of course noise is a no-no where other fishermen are concerned) - used to take a good book and sit there all day with them. At least I knew where they were AND I got to spend time with them (while doing my own thing).
stefejb - that sounds so familiar (visit DD with cleaning in stuff in one hand:rolleyes:)!
AussieLass - a trip to the beach with DGS sounds idyllic - enjoy it.
dlb - booking holiday 09! - not long recovered from holiday 07 here!! Good luck with your ds party.
MrsMix - I used to keep a box at the foot of the stairs and put everything in it that got left lying around. I would then tell them they had 24 hours to remove what they wanted and put away or it would go in the bin - if they didn't respect their belongings enough to put em away and look after them then they couldn't possibly want them. Only ever got round to throwing out the first boxfull - worked like a dream after that. But good luck with them - remember the family home becomes a quiet empty house when they're no longer around. Know what you mean about the freezer - mine is beginning to look like the arctic as I'm trying to use up what's left in there - all this just to fill it up again  .
ancasta - good luck with the painting today. Exciting times and new beginnings :j !
penguin - good morning. hmmmm exciting weekends - now just remind me please - what exactly are those like? Long since relegated to the (very) dim and (even more) distant past here!0 -
morning all,
Sorry for those who are not sleeping, my OH is a snorer too, generally a dig in the ribs will stop him.
just me and DD up at the moment, he is still in bed bless him, he has had a long hard week at work so will leave him till he wakes.
DD is off with her dad for the day today, so OH and I will be out walking with little dog, we take a picnic and spend all day walking.
Ordered some more xmas bits on ebay last night, just got a few bits to get and then thats it :j , as soon as I have them all I will wrap them, and put them away, I love being this organised, its all down to this site, DD and I will make the xmas cards in half term, and then apart from the food cooking and shopping its all done :j
Will have a quick tidy through this morning, then out, got a wash in, and two to do, I wash OH work clothes seperately from ours as they are very mucky.
We have got chicken satay pittas and salad for tea not tried it before but will see.
Off to watch a bit of childrens TV with DD. xx
Hugs to all,0 -

Morning all
Paperwork for me today - I can no longer use the postal strike as an excuse for not doing it:rolleyes: (come on boys get militant again then I dont have to do my VAT!!)
Having said that the strike has meant that my brother in Afghanistan has had no mail and he really looks forward to that - I guess they dont think about situations like that when they decide to strike. So I need to nip to asda for a few bits to send to him now its over.
Lots and lots of painting to do as well in the kitchen so may make a start on that later. Food wise - I could do with working out how to use the oven today its like a washing machine with about 20 options - bet I end up using one:D
Will watch Saturday kitchen before I do anything though - get totally inspired - print a load of recipes off - then have beans on toast (cheesy if I feel brave:o )
Right best get moving I guess
Have a good day

Morning All!
Sorry some of you couldn't sleep. I had trouble too, didn't drop off till 2am! I had a reason tho......................................Guess what?
My OH asked to me to MARRY HIM! You could've knocked me down with a feather:eek: We've been together for six years, He's been married twice before, and I've been once. we've got four kids between us, (all grown up), and I can't wait! He said he was gonna wait till Christmas Day, but he's bought the ring, and couldn't wait till then.:T
And, I'm going to Brighton tonight to see my other favourite man, Donny Osmond, so today has turned out pretty special!:T
Hope everyone else has a good day too!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Good morning everyone,
I do not have a long list of chores for today - so I got up late (after 8) and I am now sitting thinking what to do next. It is a damp miserable day here, don't know if it's worth hanging out the washing or not. My bro is supposed to be coming to repair my roof/chimney today - have been waiting since January, hopefully he does not let me down again !!!
DS1 coming for dinner tonight, I do love trying new recipes, so I will search the web for something different. I don't usually buy convenience foods but I bought a Tiramisu packet mix from Aldi last weekend and it was brill. So I may buy another today and have it for a sweet tonight - only thing is it does not give any calories details on the pack so I have no idea how fattening it is !!!!!! Maybe thats a good thing!
To Mags and Olliebeak I must say, I know the "empty nest syndrome" well. It takes so long to get used to the empty house after they leave and just when you become happy in your quiet, tidy and organised house they come back!!! Then you get used to them being back and they leave again. DD is coming home for Christmas this year (first Xmas home in 3 years) and I am really looking forward to seeing her but have no idea how long she will be staying (could be months).
Have a good Saturday.
Congratulations Hilstep, thats great news, have a great day !!!Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)
