Also try Freecycle, that's the MSE way.

This is a very good TV: 3x HDMI, Ethernet LAN (internet cable from your router will give you Internet TV services) Wireless.

Download the Manual for more info:

Why restrict your viewing choices, there is a lot you could do with this TV? A Freesat box would give you more.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.
  • thank you robisere,i will have a look at your links,i think I just need time to get to know what the tv can do!...I tried the google and couldn't remember my password!...tried to change it and my emails stopped on my phone :o..spent half a day trying to sort that!...I have been on gumtree and not a mile away a seller has hd box with remote for £9...I cheekily asked if he could throw in a hdmi cable....he can!...awaiting him contacting me.

The reality is once you go HDMI,it makes things simpler for you.

We have a similar Samsung TV. Very good smart features.
Can stream from my PC,Access my network drive, usual Netflix,Amazon TV etc. Works very well.

    Calm yourself pops.

All calm here, there were just a few wrong/expensive suggestions and I had to emphasise to OP not to follow them, because it would have cost them money!

I'm pretty sure all older Sky boxes already have an RF out, so the moneysavingist option is to connect that to the aerial input on the TV and then perform an analogue channel scan.
This will get you a slightly fuzzy non-HD picture, but it will work! And with sound!

Unless I'm misunderstanding the manual his new TV has a satellite connector (so Freesat builtin). He just needs to plug any one of the existing leads in and possibly install/update the Freesat software.

" Availability depends on the specific model and geographical area.

Mines has the connector but no hardware.

You are quite correct, I was posting that in a hurry and did not check that out. OP, you will definitely be able to get Freesat, but I believe that the Sky box you are ordering will only give you a certain number of channels. I have to look into it, in a rush to pick up a grandson from work.
