You just have to keep shouting "It's like the bloody Blackpool Illuminations in here"0

Could be a problem... :rotfl:Could you do with a Money Makeover?

PasturesNew wrote: »Re the sweets idea... go hard.
Start with a jar each of sweets. If you find a light switched on they have to sit and watch you eat a sweet from their jar.
If another child informs you about the light being left on and turns it off, THEY get to eat the sweet in front of the other child.
Of course, you might then have to deal with a child lying .... but a swift hand round the back of the legs usually works for that. Then you eat ALL their sweets... and the following week they don't even HAVE a jar of sweets.

Remote control light switches and an app on your phone to tell you which are left-on. Shut them down at will!

You can then shut-off the modem or some similar device if they have transgressed or reward them in other ways if good.0 -
I would tell them, '.... or otherwise it will be lights off at 6.30pm for bedtime'....
Then they might remember...0 -
Replace all your bulbs with LED bulbs, at least that way when the lights are left on, they will not be costing you too much in electricity0

Yes, always have a few bulbs not working.
And then when they get their own place in about 15 to 20 years, go around and leave all the lights on. It's amusing to see how they react once they are paying the bill. :T0 -
Stick bright pink/yellow/green/orange post its on every doorway. Bribing them with sweets just to do something they should be doing automatically is ridiculous.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

...and if they pull a face after you tell them: "if the wind changes you'll stick like that!"0
