Thank you for giving your view as to why it's a scam, which is they have to trap motorists into paying a penalty charge by manipulating the system to their advantage. Otherwise there'd be no business for them.

In that case I must be their worst nightmare customer and a major loss leader for their business plan as over the last 30 years I've only received one of these penalties, mentioned earlier and caused by parking where I shouldn't have after ignoring the signs. By your logic, if everybody paid the legitimate parking fee the companies would soon go out of business.

So, let's agree to disagree on how they make their profits.

Correct, which is why the PPC's devise all sorts of underhand tactics to entrap people.
UKPC for example were caught at least five times falsifying photographs to extort money out of victims, and were banned from getting info from the DVLA for that reason.

Then there is the leaving site scam where a driver is allegedly watched leaving the car park and given a charge, this is entrapment as the PPC is supposed to mitigate the loss to the site owner, not watch and pocket a charge.

Or the old non compliant signage trick, hidden or not illuminated for example.

Or the ANPR that fails to record a VRN leaving, and the ppc's know this flaw exists, or the time clocks that are 5minutes out of sync, or the attendant that tells you to park somewhere then tickets you and disappears.

The PCN designed to look like a fine to trick the unsuspecting, the PPC's targeting hospitals as they are easy vulnerable targets.

All (and there's more) dirty tricks made up because managing car parking does not pay, whereas trapping transgressors does.

I passed my driving test 54 years ago next month, and in all that time have never once paid any sort of parking fine or penalty. You just need to be considerate and careful where you park.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

Congratulations I passed my test 35 years ago and I've had two private parking tickets one because my pass "didn't look like the others", it had faded in the sunlight, and one because my naughty front tyre was on the white line in a very small space.

I didn't pay either, I was careful where I parked and considerate, you have been very lucky!

But not considerate enough to make sure all of your vehicle fitted in the marked space...

No, just someone who believes if you can't follow the rules, you shouldn't whinge and whine if you get caught.

After all, parking within the lines really isn't rocket science. You certainly don't need to be a 'clever muppet' to do so.

Unless the bays are purposely made small or the muppet on one side hasn't left you enough room to get out of the car, either way a charge of £100/£60 does not fit the transgression.

But then I was not born as perfect as you I suppose do you breath through your ears too?

Why would you want to park in a bay that is too small and a car is parked that obstructs your exit?. Just park in a suitable bay and you won't have any issues.

You will also avoid getting your car damaged. I bet your car has also of dents and scratches from the places you choose to park in!.

You really don't seem to be either a very good driver or a good forum member.
