Ridiculous Parking charge

Well considering that there needs to be an effective means in place to stop people parking wherever they want and as long as they want on private land. Then considering your comparing about the fact they provide "fake" fines then the solution must be to give them legitimate powers to fine people. If they are able to give legitimate fines just like the council they could no long be considered scammers and you would be happy?.0 -

No, I'm not going to read through that blog.
I asked you why it is a scam for people to be charged for parking on private property if there are signs that clearly indicate what will happen if you do.
I agree it is a scam if you are charged incorrectly and the invoice is not withdrawn when you prove the enforcement company was in the wrong. I also agree some of the charges are ridiculously high.
But, your post clearly implied ALL parking enforcement by the private sector is a scam.
So, I'll give you another chance to highlight just a couple of areas as to why you think the system is a scam.0 -

Just read this single post then from the Prankster about the IPC, IAS and Gladstones Solicitors and if you don't think the system stinks to high heaven then there is something wrong with your nose.

I believe I've already said I agree it is a scam when the appeals system does not work correctly. Mind you, how can it when it's run by the parking companies?
But, my request is for proof the whole system is a scam as alluded to previously.0 -

The council fines are at a reasonable level, £25-35 if paid withing 14 days in my area depending on contravention.
There is also a proper independent appeals body which will properly look at the evidence for and against.
Most of the private parking companies are the old clappers put out of business by PoFA 2012 and do no more to manage a car park than stick a couple of ANPR cameras up and wait for the money to roll in, none of them AFAIA have people actually on the ground patrolling the car parks. Which does nothing to actually alleviate any actual parking issues.0 -
Gosh! The OP made a big mistake posting on the wrong board!
(PS - if the OP did "park" in a hotel car park reserved solely for guests or their visitors - and they didn't satisfy these criteria - then I have little sympathy for them if they thought they could save some money. What if you are aguest at the hotel?0 -

Well I'm not going to reproduce the whole thing here just because you can't be bothered to read it.
My main reason for considering this whole industry a scam is that the only way the company can make a profit is if people don't follow the rules. That cannot be considered right.
Then there is the issue of double-dipping.0 -

Thank you for giving your view as to why it's a scam, which is they have to trap motorists into paying a penalty charge by manipulating the system to their advantage. Otherwise there'd be no business for them.
In that case I must be their worst nightmare customer and a major loss leader for their business plan as over the last 30 years I've only received one of these penalties, mentioned earlier and caused by parking where I shouldn't have after ignoring the signs. By your logic, if everybody paid the legitimate parking fee the companies would soon go out of business.
So, let's agree to disagree on how they make their profits.0
