I’m also one that does not like the compensation culture. It has to be paid for and ultimately will come from the customers. Unless you have suffered a material loss you shouldn’t get compensation IMO2.88 kWp System, SE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 240W Conergy Panels, Samil Solar River Inverter, Havant, Hampshire. Installed July 2012, acquired by me on purchase of house in August 20170

It's on the same level as those who throw themselves into a slow-moving car, those who reverse into the car behind, drive uninsured vehicles and purposely "trip" over a pavement obstacle that others see and avoid.
The rest of us pay for it all by increased premiums and, in some cases, illegaly obtained Benefits. Leading to governments applying draconian, impossibly strict 'qualifying rules' to genuine benefits claimants.
If such people applied their efforts to a job of work, they might make an honest penny.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Is it so different to chopping & changing accounts to get every switching bonus, circulating money between accounts to get around the money in/money out requirements & jumping through any other hoops to get as much out of a bank as possible? Every gain is someone else's loss there too.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I think it's different.
Banks/Building Societies offering switching bonuses, interest and other incentives to open or switch accounts are making an offer in the hope of benefiting from new customers. The bank/BS then has the opportunity to market other products to that customer directly. The campaigns/offers will be costed at the outset and controlled by t&cs/limitations/withdrawal of the offer.
Compensation claims are just a drain in terms of money and time.0 -

Thanks for having my post deleted from your thread long before the whole thing was deleted. Not my doing, I should add.
But you are guilty of bragging. Without explaining.
What have you complained about? How have you approached the complaint? How has the bank responded so far? How much do you think you'll get? How much did you get?
That sort of information would help posters gain the confidence to complain.

I switch money for the best interest rate but never for a switching bonus. I regard the first as legitimate but the second as a bribe. Others have a quite different view.
I guess that the consensus here is that complaining just to make a profit crosses the line.0
