  • Good morning all!

I only have one under counter-sized freezer and it's bursting at the seams. I'm loathed to get another one because there's only two of us and if we can't keep up with the food in our little freezer then we wouldn't be any better with a bigger freezer. It's full of whoopsied items as it is. It did mean that I didn't have any space to buy those vegan Magnums though :-(.

It's a beautiful morning, but very frosty out there so I was back in the car today.

Free wine, excluding Scotland, why oh why can't they at least include a bottle of fizzy juice or something for those excluded/don't drink.

It grieves me to say this but I might have to do this. Red wine is getting low:o

    There are a few in store @ 4.48 = 20.16 for 6 or a couple @ 4.00 =18.00 for 6. Sign outside says £4 and over per bottle.

There's only two of us, but I have a 300 litre chest freezer! Have to admit that it is about a quarter occupied by home grown fruit, and I tend to cook double when I make a decent stew or something like a chilli, and I like to do my Christmas baking and freeze it down so I have had to behave and create a gap in it, it is irritating me so much I found myself buying faggots from Aldi just to give the illusion that it isn't such a big gap. Must get on with that baking before too long, make sure the gap doesn't disappear :o

Oh, and I do keep frozen peppers and grapes in it for Castor and Pollux too.

    Morning all

On the counter in Neros yesterday there were gift cards which said spend £25 get £5 off - I am thinking that some of our Amex cards have a 9% discount for a Nero spend, in theory a £1.80 amex credit back to your amex card (make sure its activated) - not sure if gift cards are excluded?

OK, its not a massive saving but combined with the 00002 weekend offers that seem to pop up at least once a month - buy a cake and get one free or buy a toastini and get one free -
the one you have to pay for use the discounted gift card, well it all helps.

We used the BOGOF toastini offer last weekend which cost £3.95 and paid for with a gift card - worked out better than a Greggs breakfast (loyalty cards covered the hot chocolate)
