When i was in asda yesterday they had the doughnut ones, they were priced at 82p each:eek: i didnt check if it was right thought just thought s0d that:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
82p each!!:eek: I've never seen such a high price - is this all part of their move towards "lower prices" (sorry I should not mention that:o)?
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It just seems the more any supermarket says something is a low price or is lower, the more it means it is high/is higher. Possibly a little like the Maltesers "Large" pouches are small compared to 195g Funsize packs. I've said it before that, with supermarkets, sometimes we seem to be in this parellel universe in which words seem to mean the opposite of what the words actually say:rotfl:.
I'm into this thing of repeating at the moment that consumers are influenced by the way in which things are presented. This is something from consumer psychology research and I saw it mentioned recently in a document from the Competition & Markets Authority - I can't just find the link or place my eyes on the part of the document on which I saw it right now (last time I managed to refind a website page to link for you because I remember exact words and phrases used in documents to describe something, so I searched for all of those words:rotfl:). I'm just thinking again, there's more research with autistic people that shows that they (me!:D) have different focuses of attention, look at different parts of the picture of a scene in front of them. For example, if people are in the scene, most people's attention I think is drawn towards them, whereas I look at the centre of the picture every time. Well, why not? The centre is where the focus should be - it is more logical! Straight in front of you, rather than something else that isn't. And then I look across and round to see other things too. Autistic people tend to concentrate on details and are probably good at spotting continuity errors in films etc. - in fact there's one person online that says they have Asperger's that says they can't watch films at all as they just keep spotting continuity errors in them (that divert their attention towards the errors):rotfl:. I'm not like that - in fact I often don't notice continuity errors. In fact, sometimes when I'm watching something, I do look at things in the background that I find interesting. Anyway, I am wondering that maybe I am far better dealing with advertising than most people are. Instead of concentrating on the gist, what the advertiser wishes to get across, I concentrate on the detail - makes me wonder if my focus of attention is, first, to the tiny small print that they probably don't really want people to read (because it sets all the limitations to their offer that they are required by law or by advertising rules to make clear - don't assume that that always happens btw). I would love it if, in fact, I'm not concentrating on the big bold message but instead on the small print or text making me less likely to be influenced into buying something:money:! And, hopefully, I don't get the emotional connection to make me buy something either!:rotfl::T
I don't think I do - people sometimes say a particular product or advertisement for the product makes them feel warm about the product. I don't - I don't feel anything at all:j. The product on sale is neither better nor worse than any other product on sale to me, so I am not going to feel any emotional connection that does not exist, as I'm objective, so why would I prefer your product? And if some product on sale of the same type is cheaper, then that is usually better (although sometimes cheapest is not best and 'you get what you pay for'). Whatever the message of an advertiser is, I usually think of something that contradicts it:rotfl:.0 -

I am in the midst of booking my existential child onto a train trip - 10.14 tomorrow and the dreaded line is coming up
"Loyalty rewards aren't available on this transaction"
Have to see if I can find another time slot that is acceptable
This is it - following on from the end of my last post, I saw this yesterday and, on seeing that quote from the advertiser/company/service provider/business whatever, my first thought was of something that looks at it in a way that counters whatever whoever is trying to promote or sell something to me is saying. Namely, I thought "so, you don't value my loyalty enough to give rewards on this transaction then?:p"
It's no good (for them, in other words for any company or business in general) - if they'd said there was loyalty, I then be saying "Loyalty doesn't pay":rotfl::rotfl:.
I just - think of the opposite of what they might want:rotfl:!:money::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
