My son had a similar experience except that he is deaf and hearing impaired. The teachers would sit him with the noisiest groups because he couldn't hear. When I commented on the fact that it was giving him headaches, the teacher would just look at me incredulously and say but he's deaf, he can't hear. I would explain that he was hearing impaired in one ear and could hear volume. His hearing aid also amplified the noise. I also explained that being deaf/hearing impaired, he could also feel the vibrations of the noise if the children were sitting together around a shared desk/table etc. Mostly I would just get a blank look from the teacher and they would carry along with their usual practice.
When the Head got involved, it would be good for a few weeks then back to normal. My experiences of the schools that my son went to was that everything was made as easy as possible for visually impaired children but not hearing impaired children (glasses are socially accepted because so many people of all ages wear them but hearing aids are for the elderly as so few children wear them and are usually picked on because they are different. Usual comment was why have you got chewing gum in your ear?) Rant over.
I grew up with a partially deaf friend, people should realise that it is just like the volume control being set excessively low, if someone comes along shouting then to the deaf person that is still the same amplification. Loud noises are still loud.redfraggle wrote: »Just had a good look around the O3 app (looking forward to my free bodywash, especially as I pulled out my last cheap Pears one from the good old APG days). There's also an offer on there for 2 x free tickets to Stylist Live at Olympia on either Friday 9th or Sunday 11th - they're claiming 2 x would cost £50. I love Stylist magazine so interested to see what it will be like!
I got a receipt with my bodywash from Holland and Barrett and had the shock of my life £5.99 :eek:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
T pork has deteriorated in quality!
Bought a joint, only £3.50 but asked the lad to cut it into steaks so I can chop it easier for stir fries.

If you don't mind me asking, have you gone with a national or local supplier? How did you choose them? We are currently looking for new windows and it seems a minefield to get comparable quotes before proceeding .
Thanks
Anon
Your certainly right about it being a minefield, especially for a single woman.
I did loads of research into glass thickness, spacing , type of seals, openings, design, you name it.. Spent ages working out where i wanted openings, including top and bottom where it's harder to reach i,e kitchen, bathrooms, utility. Drove myself mad looking at front doors to find what I liked and fitted in with house style and patio door was another minefield, because I didn't want standard size doors that would get in the way on patio. settled for fixed sides and smaller doors, have yet to see how that works out. Found looking at tiny pictures in booklets of little help when choosing front door glass design and frosted glass. So people I went with had 12in square samples cut from manufacturer so I could view them, which really helped.
Chose low threshold front door so no big lip to trip on, and dummy sashes on windows without double openings (mine open top and bottom not side to side) so every window looks even and Georgian Bar would be matched up in every window.
Got lots of quotes, from National to local, and went with local company that;s been in business for 32 years and I felt happy with. Didn't pick the cheapest of the local, but not the most expensive either. National companies prices were just mad, at least 3 times what i am paying.
If i can be of any help, let me know or send a pm.0 -

I won't be able to pick this up until tomorrow. Does anyone know if you need the 'live' code or can you screenshot it now to show later? I was wondering this for the Tues/Wed coffees and Thursday drinks too....I'm very new to this app!0 -

I would not be happy with that.
I would be sending Mr T a tweet with a pic“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
