Never realised you were from those parts MHOC. I had a few good nights in Alsager in my younger days. :D

Fwiw, three out of four 400ml Lynx Shower Gels should currently be comparing vs £1.50 at M. All four should each be vs T and S at £1.50. The three that A online and M have were showing me £1.50 last Wednesday in M and appear to have gone up in price since to "Offer price £2.00, was £3.00" until 9/12/18 (unless online and instore are out of line, which I may not know). However, even against £1.50 = £1.35, that, for 400ml, still works out more expensive than offer on 250ml that ran very briefly in M for 4 for £3. I did right therefore to buy four of those, in M as I didn't think APG would work (too many Ms didn't show the offer for me instore), on their last day of offer a few weeks back. As for 400ml now - avoid!:rotfl:

    Good morning.
And so it begins, day one of froctober. Today is my mum's birthday and I'm taking her, Dd and dgd out for lunch but I never count socialising money in my total only household expenditure.
I'm going to pandoraskids town this morning to pick up a Ted baker order for dgd so I may go over to Sainsbugx for the free veggie stuff. I love the way froctober changes your thinking.
I'll park at As to get free parking and there's travel mugs apparently for £1 each and I have my final apg to use for 81p

Edited to say i won't be getting the free veggie things as its now closed....typical.
Am I right in thinking I could get a fuel 10k and claim £1 back vis cos plus a full refund in dh name through shopmium?

    Morning paw sniffers:D

Anyone checked if the old PAG machine is still working?:D

I'm unsure how I'm going to do Froctober but I will embrace it in spirit as best I can.

I'm at Newcastle with work today so I have train fares to find which get reimbursed. Lunch is already prepared. Free weightwatchers bread making up an egg mayo sandwich. Fresh hens eggs too and a bottle of water. Two pears too...I got a whoopsied pack for 15p yesterday

Work will pay for my coffees:)

    Bring it on:D

  • Good morning all!

My husband and I were walking down the stairs fairly slowly this morning ;-). Luckily you tend to use different muscles for cycling than walking so we should get into work not too much slower than usual.

What do I need to do to take part in Froctober?

You do whatever suits you FW. I count all money spent on the household so food, cleaning products, basically everyday spending.
For example today I'm hopefully going to buy 2 travel cups for dhs morning coffee they are £1 each minus my 81p apg I will later add £1.19 to my signature.
I don't count money spent on socialising as I'm not letting it affect my social life and certainly not for a whole month.
  • I'm not sure how I'm going to fare with Froctober. Normally it would be fine but I am off on my hols next week and have to get a shop in for the kids - quick & easy stuff that we don't normally get. Having said that, we have a fair few blocks of cheese from the Lidl offer and loads of pasta, spaghetti, beans etc so I'm sure they'll manage :rotfl:

And that's exactly what froctober is to me. It's making things you already have available do rather than buying something.
I have also made sure I haven't bought anything in advance of froctober as that defeats the object. We will need instant coffee soon but I have about 5 packs of filter coffee from waities offer a couple of months ago so we will drink more filter coffee so hopefully i wont need to buy any.
We went out on Saturday night so I have got alot more cash in my purse than usual as I normally use my mns credit card to gain the points. I might try to make the cash I've got last the whole month that would be a challenge.
