Ikea used to sell these quite cheap.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Good morning all, lovely blue sky here again but obviously chilly with it.
It's funny, I thought everyone knew about those bag clips, I use them on everything.
Quite funny, our Lidl is closed for a couple of months whilst they extend/refurb it, but the amount of people that go past all the metal building fences and still turn into the road, and look at the gate as if they are surprised :rotfl::rotfl: Yesterday one chap even asked me if it was closed, and the tone of voice was "how have they got the cheek to close when I was coming", he was sitting parked in the entry road, right in front of padlocked gates, as if he was waiting for them to open!. I wouldn't mind, but they had enormous notices up for a couple of months before they closed, and he was parked next to one :eek:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Alvaston Hall is local to me - no local reports as to if its bad or good.
If you are looking for a destination hotel eg a country house hotel than it has to be Rookery Hall - they do special offers so get onto there mailing lists.
Or Crewe Hall - again its a spa hotel.
These are are at the expensive side but very luxurious.
midrange would be Wychwood park - it used to be Devere but I dont know who owns it now.
Eating out - Nantwich for small character resturants but Crewe has a few chains if you dont mind cheaper and less cheerful.
Cheshire Oaks - its actually quite a distance, about an hour away as the road to Chester has cameras and speed restrictions and there is no bypass or dual carriage way until just outside Chester.
So if Cheshire Oaks is the main attraction you might be better being closer to Chester.
Carden Park is also a country house spa hotel and much closer to Chester - again it used to be a Devere.
its an awful lot of driving about though for a weekend away - not sure why you want to come this far south - plenty of gorgeous places between here and there.
Thanks MHOC Its a four hour drive so only a wee bit further than Blackpool etc which was my first choice but we may go onto to B'ham to see relatives who lost the old auntie
On that note it is her funeral today It was postponed to accommodate pre booked holidays ours and another cousins0 -

I should know, but how are you getting APGS on giftcards please? Do you mean A giftcards or others? I know you can transfer the difference in a 342 2 for example (so the value of the multibuy discounts) but thought the till stopped you buying giftcards with apg?
Have I missed something? (I know, a bit late to find out now - only a few days left to generate the apgs!).
Many thanks
