If you like a lot of fat and less than 20g of carb a day ie a banana :eek: and a limited amount of protein. Then go for it. If the idea fills you with dread avoid it. Simple :D

It is far wider than this, but for love no money I cannot figure it out!

Having been a serial dieter all my life and having done loads of diets I am now doing Low Carb/Keto. I did Slimming World years ago and it worked great but that was in the Red and Green Days time but only worked the first time. I then did Weight Watchers but couldnt get on with it. Then Cambridge and that worked great.
Back in 2013 I did Cambridge again and lost 3.5 stone. Its a great diet but its keeping it off after thats a problem as your hunger gets switched back on.
Last couple of years weight has been going up and down by a stone. In January I joined a Low Carb/ Keto thread on fb and have lost 12lbs. I have mostly stuck to it with a few meals out and birthdays and if I cheat I get back to it straightaway.
I eat a lot of eggs, cheese, butter, meat salad cauliflower berries, low cal jelly and cream. I buy something called Lavash bread to make wraps and pizza and make a fat heavy cheese sauce for caluliflower cheese. Just had 4 days in Nice on holiday and ate everything I wanted ( chips cake pasta etc )
Back to it today and basically I dont consider it a diet anymore but as the Americans call it a WOE ( way of eating )
My cholesterol is about 4.8, my digestion is great ( I suffer from IBS ) and I feel great. I adapt recipes so OH and I can basically eat the same things.
I would reccomend Low Carb to anyone.

Now that is how you do it!

Can we have some more details please x

    That's what she says :rotfl:

I'll admit I originally said 10 weeks then double checked my graph and realised it was actually 12 weeks.

The rate of loss will slow down soon enough. I'm setting myself a target of losing the next 40lbs in 20 weeks

And details of how you are doing this.... I am am just staying the same on SW! Thanks

It is. Men don't fair well in famines unlike us women. Lets be honest when there is a food shortage it better for the man to die and for the woman and child to have more food.:D Women's bodies fight back harder and faster hormonally than a man when there is less energy coming in.

Generally, though, it mainly because men are heavier than woman and therefore will generally burn more calories.

Habitually, men do the right thing when it comes to losing weight unlike women who slash calories to chronic levels and hit the cardio deck. Most women don't eat enough protein and it has a number of benefits.

And women are better at cannibalism. :D:D:D:D

That is a true ketogenic diet. Very difficult.

Some people can still say in ketosis by having up to 50g of carbs, if you go higher with carbs then it is generally called low carb and not Keto. If that works well for rose and being flexible about it then  brilliant. But that approach could back fire for some people.
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

    Morning all

I bought the Galaxy in S this morning for CS. The SEL was £2 but as I have just uploaded the receipt I noticed that it scanned at £1.50 :)

Thank you - I didn't pay much attention to this offer (... no surprise there then :o) as I thought it was the same offer from the other week that I had already claimed. It is not showing on the CS app, but if I follow the link from the email to Q and login on the website CS it is there to claim.

... apart from it isn't . When I click on the Redeem Now link on the website and select any of the supermarkets the chocolate is not listed to claim. A good job I checked and haven't bought any yet :(. Yet more disappointment :(.

Good morning all, lovely day here :D

Could seriously do with some rain though!

    Well done aau!

As for weight loss, whatever I do I seem to stay within a couple of pounds of the same weight.

I can be really good for a couple of weeks and lose absolutely nothing, I can be naughty and gain nothing! I don't go mad, my stomach only has so much capacity, but to me that means sneaking some chocolate in etc.

I stopped snacking long ago and stick to a balanced diet. I think I shall have to accept me for what I am. I exercise regularly (cycling and walking at the weekend).

That said, I am a size 12 but when I was in my 20s I was a size 8, I think that is my problem. Another part of it might be that a few years ago I was told by my father that I had to lose 8 stone within a year of die (another one of my step-mother's little comments - apparently she knew best as she was a medical professional (a dentist fgs). Neither of them had seen me for several years but they still insisted they knew best and tried to grind me down. My Step-mother's aim was to totally demoralise me. Oh, and if I lost 8 stone I would no longer be alive.

Anyway, less of this. I am what I am, if I can't lose weight I shall continue being a size 12, and I certainly shall not gain weight.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

You're right! I missed the crucial '.com'.

At lunch time today I used a screenshot of a voucher I saw on FB for a free hot drink and a cake at Pausa in Dunelm Mill. Myself and my husband just showed copies of the same voucher, and the woman at the till just scanned a paper copy she had behind the till. The voucher is valid until the 15th June. I can try and work out how to put it on here if it'll be of any use to anyone.

Thanks for posting, DW and DKs all partook yesterday after school. I went to print one for myself today and it has disappeared off the 10ways facebook feed - I don't suppose anyone took a screenshot or similar? Thanks
    I think....

I had problems yesterday, my receipt upload kept failing. I had to delete and reinstall the app to get it working, finally got the accepted message. But it didn't show under receipt activity, I left it and looked again today and now it's showing 3 times. So out of the dozens of times I tried and it said failed 2 must have actually worked. :sighs:

Not sure what will happen now, whether they all might reject.

    Mine kept failing also yesterday
When they processed it just done one and the copy was rejected
