    Morning all :)

Tried to pay my Amex bill the other day and got a message saying it had not been possible to complete the transaction and to try again. So I tried again and it went through ok the second time. Checked my bank account this morning and it has gone through twice
More crap to deal with

I had that problem last year when I paid my bc from my h account.
Visited Halifax to complain, thinking they would reverse it but they said it was my fault for paying twice and they couldn't do anything about it.

I had to leave it on my cc until I'd spent it!

    Morning peeps.

Good morning all, what a grey day.

As for Michael McIntyre being robbed, has it occurred to you BH that he was probably picked on BECAUSE of who he is? He gives a lot of joy to a lot of people, why should he not have a nice watch if he can afford it? It's not as if he doesn't do charity work too!

Would you think the same about all those overpaid footballers?

If people earn money let them spend it on what they want.

I honestly do not understand the need for these things, maybe a trait. I don't do photographs either, as I don't see the point in them as memories suffice for me. Charity work as for as I can see appears to be a way of self promotion.
Footballers are the same, overpaid for playing a playground game and bursting into a tantrum when it doesn't go their way.

Sorry if I caused any offence, I lack a bit of the insight into other people's thoughts and intents. Maybe that's why I like moneysaving, I cannot see the point in paying over the odds for things LOL>

No offence caused, just irritates me when people criticise the rich for spending their money.

That said, a lot of our clients are in the more than rich category, with several being millionaires, just a case of the area we are based in. We know how much work they put in, we know about the charity work (that they tend to keep quiet about, we just happen to be around when they have meetings), they are not secretive around us as they have to be able to trust us totally considering some of the areas we have to go into in their homes. We have one client that even leaves their bank statements around, the figures are mind boggling (and no, we don't "look" but we do "see" when we are moving things for access) but we know how hard they work for that.

I guess it irritates me that some would have them still work that hard but hand 90% plus of the money they earn to the government (not putting you in that category BH), have to say a lot of charities would suffer if that happened.

Poor soul had his watch stolen. allegedly worth between £5k and £15k. Newsworthy because "he" was robbed A tenth of that money would have put a lot of us in financial distress.

Could someone explain to me why people buy these sort of things, to me a watch is for telling the time. Bought mine 10 years ago with clubcard points at Goldies, £100 would have been the cash price. It is solar and , well, tells the time. Is it vanity or is it wanting others to be envious? I lack understanding of how people think, but have a strong regard for social justice. Could anyone here walk down the street wearing such a watch and see people who are obviously in need?

End of wee rant. Will check Son offer later in the morning.
He can afford an expensive watch, he wants an expensive watch.
    Thats it really.

Agree, a watch is just to tell the time. I have had my Rolex for about 10 years and don't need another. I paid about £3 for it on a Turkish Market Stall so it was a good investment:rotfl:

However now that I am retired I wear a Fitbit-type thing that counts the 10k steps I try to each day, this is a functional watch although difficult to see in sunlight.

    Morning all:hello:
