    Happy belated Birthday Picasso

Thank you so much. It has easily been the best birthday yet and my sitting room is full of flowers and cards now.
    Morning,

Is anyone a member of National Trust? If so could you let me know if it is worth joining, and if you know of the best deals. I am thinking when DS1 and DIL return to the UK, they will want to go out on every weekends....and I know we will end up paying for everything! Thanks x

That art fund link which someone has posted looks really good if that will be enough for you. Your best bet isn't the NZ one, I think, as that doesn't include parking, but is the Scottish National Trust as that is cheaper than the English one and works very well. Mind you, the NZ one also gives you admittance to English Heritage sites, so if that is important to you... I am thinking of giving my niece a life membership to the English NT though, if I can pull the money together, as that would allow her to take another person in free with her too. I think that would be a wonderful 18th or 21st birthday present for someone.

I feel so annoyed with Nectar.

Do they EVER credit your points without a struggle

We spent nearly £1000 with AO at the beginning of May when there was a double points offer

Points are to go onto your account within 28 days. Knowing how terrible they are I have given it another week without any luck.

So now I have to start the whole rigmarole of chasing them.

Probably an hour of my life I'll never get back.

What on earth is wrong with their system?

Have a look at a post I put on here one evening, maybe Thursday, after I had been in touch with Nectar, about loading it to your card. That may help in the future. But otherwise just message them on Facebook. That was the advice of someone on here and it worked really well for me when I needed to chase up my Nectar points.

Three posts in one due to the 60 second rule :(. Now I'm off to bed. All these birthday celebrations have been exhausting!! Goodnight everyone.

Private hospital for me a few years ago, and then again a couple of months ago supporting a friend.
On both occasions parked easily and free, coffee on arrival and an apology as consultant was running 5 mins late.

Mind you the private hospitals here are not town centre, so no 'none users' using them.

My consultant was wearing a sweater and 'slacks' and apologised for not being 'dressed' as it was his day off! In other words moonlighting privately!
Discussed the cost of a gall bladder op and as I wasn't insured for this he said save your money (£7k+, as if)) I'll put you on my NHS list, will be 3/4 months. 3 weeks later, booked in???
Nobody could tell me when I would have the op until his registrar explained, consultant was on general surgery duty that week, but he doesn't like his people to wait so was 'fitting me in'.

Was good for me but I question the principles of it!

I absolutely support NHS, but if I had the money I guess I'd go private.
Perfectly fine and understandable if you dont want to answer Pippo, but do you have private health insurance, and its just that the bladder ws not covered for some reason, or did you just pay for an appointment with a specialist to get diagnosis? TIA

    Hi DM,
I had an inherited what used to be hospital Saturday fund.. now Westfield , policy through mine and his work.. paid for glasses, demists and consultations.

Also paid for an overnight rate when you were in hospital.

Once very ill in Spain (and Newcastle).. Insurance paid but I got a few hundred quid a few weeks later. When I had big op that went wrong I remember thinking when I was almost ready to go home, 1 more day then I get about £1K for convalescence and recuperation. I got it!!
Was good for me given I was employed by the council who paid full pay for 6 months when on the sick.
