I haven't even got to buy that extra, the milk I buy today will last 'til Tuesday, the only extra I have bought is things like pate, I certainly do not stock up for the next year, I seriously have trouble not giggling when I see what some people are buying, I still remember most shops being closed on a Sunday, can you imagine their reaction if that came round again :rotfl::rotfl:

In the area of Spain that I frequent everything closes at 1pm Saturday and opens again 8am Monday....except bars and restaurants of course ;);) It's quite hard if you only go for the weekend but a refreshing change from the non-stop U.K. xxxx

    Christmas Dinner....
I have concluded that the inevitable stress of Christmas dinner is created by adverts and supermarkets....
It's a Sunday dinner for !!!!s sake. We do it quite happily 51 weeks of the year but can we the consumers be trusted to manage by ourselves on one day of the year, apparently not! ...
    Here goes...
    1. Turkey... It's a big !!!!!!! chicken that's all, 20 minutes per lb plus 20 minutes at 180 degrees - jobs a good un! Get yourselves a meat thermometer £3 off the Internet poke it in the offending bird if it says 75 degrees or over its cooked!
    2. Stuffing - regardless of what Jamie Oliver says you do NOT need 2lbs of shoulder of pork, onions breadcrumbs, pine nuts and a !!!! load of fresh herbs to make stuffing.... What you need is Paxo and a kettle!! If you wanna liven it up squeeze 3 sausages out of their skins and mix that in with your Paxo before cooking 1f609.png😉.
    3. Gravy - Jamie Oliver is copping for this one aswell....
Bisto Jamie.... All you need is Bisto!
    4. Vegetables. Never mind faffing round shredding sprouts and frying them with bacon and chestnuts to make them more palatable, If you don't like them don't buy and cook the !!!!!!! things. If your family only eats frozen peas then that's good enough!
    5. Roast potatoes. Yes I part boil mine then roast them in goose fat or whatever you want to use, but Aunt Bessie also does the same 1f609.png😉.
    6. Trimmings,Christmas pudding Mincepies and the like, whatever shop you use or do what I do bake them yourself
    7. Family. Children, Feed the little blighters first separately, if they only want turkey with tomato sauce fine leave em to it, it doesn't matter. Once they are fed begger them off to play with their Christmas presents so that YOU can enjoy your dinner in Peace!
Adults. Anyone that can manage to get their sorry arrse to your dinner table is also capable of helping to serve up/ sort the kids out/ clear the table /wash up /dry up etc.
    And Finally.....
NO ONE, And I mean no one APART FROM THE COOK IS ALLOWED TO GET P1SSED AND FALL ASLEEP BEFORE THE WASHING UP IS DONE!!!

Popped into Homebase to see if they had dishwashers tablets Not as good as reported earlier but the Quantum Power were 60 for £5 Below the magic 10p for me

They had just reduced lots of Christmas decorations Some lovely expensive baubles all down to 50p

I bought 4 big cuddly toys £5.00 each Never done that before and DS said NO Ooops may need to keep them for next year or I may just ignore him

Worth a look if you are nearby

Some intro offers also say you become inelligible if your account becomes out of order so be careful.

Do you self refer for amex repeats, if not I would be happy to help out.....

My shopping list is getting longer. DD2 insisted she wants a photo printer but we get dd1 an instant camera that she 'had to have' for her birthday and I am not sure she even got through the first 20 exposure film before she got bored so spending 120 quid on what is equivalent for dd2 seems like a mistake but she has no other desires apparently - instead she is getting an ice cream maker and a waffle maker as she loves both but that means I need to pick them up today and pick up the ingredients for both for xmas day use....

I got a Nectar Amex a couple of months ago for the bonus Nectar points. Can somebody please explain the best way forward with this - I plan to cancel before the free 12 months are up but can I refer my DH using the same Nectar card before I cancel mine ? And can I then re-apply a few months later ? I am VERY new to this and would appreciate some guidance.

11st2lbs down to 9st2lbs - another 5lbs gone due to alcohol abuse (head down toilet syndrome)
  • I was amazed when I went out this morning, walked into McColls and it was empty, went to Lidl and it was quieter than a normal Saturday, listening to the traffic news though I am going nowhere else

Never thought I would say this, but I totally agree. It is a normal Sunday roast, that is how I treat it anyway.

For the first time in years we are having Christmas lunch alone, just the two of us, and I am really looking forward to it :D
