Charlie had anal gland problems too, I just told the vet I had read up on boosters, and now he was older I'd rather he didn’t get them. My vet seemed to accept that. Hope you get on OK.

Dismal damp day here, still it’s not raining so I shouldn’t complain. It is winter after all. Oh how I wish I could hibernate until spring

Have you all finished shopping for pressies? I’ve just got some fresh stuff to get, not going over board as shops open again Boxing Day here if needed. My blind SIL coming here 27th but I can’t be having her stay over this year, nor drive her back to her residence. She has a mobility car and a career that drives her so I’ve arranged for her to come pick her up from here in the evening.

My joints are bad, my breathing is all over the place but that’s down to me not taking care

Hugs to the Elite poorly and those low in spirit and mind. You’re in my thoughts today xx

I suppose if you have indoor cats that never go outside then annual boosters dont really apply especially as getting them to the vets is traumatic enough for them.

Our cats though enjoy the garden and probably along the way encounter other cats, foxes, rabbits and an entire fields full assorted mice, voles and rats etc.

Also our cattery asks to see their booster cards and makes a note of their dates

Our vet also does a health exam - checks them for fleas, looks in their eyes and ears, listens to their heart and only when he is satisfied does he give them their jabs. We are very fortunate to have a very elderly vet, very old school, one that cant retire, and one we trust totally

Re: boosters for pets. What happens re pet insurance if you dont get the boosters done. Is insurance still valid?

Eldest son and his lovely GF are arriving late this evening, driving the long way from the wilds of East Anglia to the even wilder Cheshire plains, not the posh bit. They are here overnight and then sometime tommorow they are flying from Manchester to spend Christmas with GFs mum and stepdad
They are back early next week to stay with us for a couple of nights.
Eldest child and her lovely OH finished work a few days ago and they drove up the M1 for a few days with his parents.
Then they are going up to Edinburgh for a glamorous pre Christmas couple of nights, mostly eating their way around Edinburgh.
Then back to his parents for Christmas
Then they are coming to us for a couple of nights so we will he a houseful with both couples- probably exhausted, over dosed on chocolate and Christmas befuddled so hopefully they wont need much entertainment or cordon bleu cooking

just about ready, just need to get to grips with the nex hated vax
