Why do Fridge/Freezers always break down just before Christmas
Mum's broke yesterday. Left it defrosting overnight but no joy.
Freezer and Fridge were full.
Can't find a suitable replacement on AOL. It's a very tall one, over the standard 600mm.
Can't find anyone that will come out quickly to try and save food
This happened to me last year  well, it was one of my fridges. Couldn't find one in a shop to take away so I picked up a secondhand one for £60 and he delivered it too. Still going very well
This year it's a boiler that needs replacing right on top of Christmas :mad::mad:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Everything has been working fine for ages - my only quibble has been the number of cashback things not stocked locally“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. The dyson died on me on Monday so I had to order the cheap vax from amazon to tide us over - it arrived today and I already hate - no good reason. The 30 year old Henry might be brought out of retirement yet but it seems such a retrograde step going back to using bags again - I like to see the dirt building up.
Tomorrow I will be attempting to bond with the vax but already I feel the need to kick it
Garage found another nail in the car tyre wall so OH had 2 new tyres and tracking done yesterday - I've not faced looking at the bill yet“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Morning all
Well the beds are changed and the guest room has the Christmas duvet on it. Finally finished most of the present wrapping at 6 last night despite numerous interuptions from OH - just one big box and 2 bottles to wrap tommorow.
And the 2 books that are still en route to do.
I think I am getting too ancient and decrepit to wrap presents - last night lower back stiff, knees imflamed and painfull from being on the floor for hours on end, neck stiff - no easy way of doing it. If I did it all using the dining room table the back would seize altogether ...
But at least the vax is en route, emergency substitute for the dyson that died on Monday. The house is covered in glitter shed from this wrapping paper I've been using, we will still be finding it next summer.
And the tree is up with lights although very sparse, not much in the way of decorations yet ..
We’ve just finished our tree mhoc....and true to form it looks like a dogs dinner:rotfl:
I’m feeling very smug with only the Christmas dinner food to buy although I might be baking the odd roulade a la Mary Berry:)
I’ve had a lovely day distributing Christmas presents to families who are struggling at the minute....and tomorrow too. There are some incredibly kind people and companies making a real difference. Big shout out for B&M who are incredibly generous:T:TTo do is to be. Rousseau

Anyone else?0 -
Poundland today had some very nice Whitworth Christmas fruit and nut mixes for £2 - good selection if you want something more inventive than the usual salted peanuts and twiglets to serve to your sophisticated Christmas guests.
Also some other packs for £1 - I got dark chocolate cranberries - these will look gorgeous and glossy in a glass bowl for nibbles.
A while back I accumulated a small wooden bucket for the bathroom - the sort that you store the white shower puffballs in. I've been thinking about getting some bath bombs to put in the top so the bathroom looks a bit more glamorous for the Christmas guests. I found in poundland today a very cute set of bath bomb ducks which look perfect just sat on top.
The box looks very classy, you would never guess it was poundland so it would make a nice add on gift eg if you have bought someone a dressing gown or new PJs for Christmas
I was looking for a pic and then I found someone selling them on ebay for £5.88

That would be pocket money in comparison
Adding together the cost of the boiler, the additional bits and the charges associated with getting it fitted...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
