Some folks have all the luck.
It is OH's shutdown next week. He's just come home from work. Some of his friends are off on a fishing 'expedition' to France tomorrow. One of them has had to drop out and has given my OH his space on it free of charge. (He can't claim on the holiday insurance because the others are still going or something.) OH has to chip in £50 for the price of meals and bait and that's it. So he's got a holiday for £50, and to be honest that's not much more than he'd spend sat at home all week.

LOL have to admit I'd usually enjoy the peace and quiet, but I start my new job on Monday and I'm terrified. I could have done with the moral support... and the lift there. Public transport round here is the pits.
I've been running around frantically sorting out clothes, camera, passport etc for him. More fool me because while I've been doing that he's been sat there watching deal or no deal and telling the cat all about the huge fish he's going to catch. To give the cat her credit, she sat and glared at him throughout.0 -
But just think, you can have a relaxing, girly weekend and be all calm & prepared for your new job.
Have a lovely weekend

I can sympathise. I had a tutor like that when i was at uni. Happily told us to assume the reader knew nothing. So explained loads of background in an eassy only for him to turn around and say that I needed to assume the reader knew this and scrapped my whole first page!!!
So not so much "insanely clever" but "horrendously forgetful" then? You'll be fine, oh and my disseration was on 'The Aspects of the Feminine in Henry Rider Haggard's Imperial Fiction'!!! I still don't know what came over me!
I'm sure it needed to be said - and you were the one to say it...
"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
"We were born and raised in a summer haze." Adele 'Someone like you.'
"Blowing your mind, 'cause you know what you'll find, when you're looking for things in the sky." OMD 'Julia's Song'0 -
Lessons I learned about life today
1) Your dad does NOT like it when you address him with the ghetto slang of "Yo pops, what's shakin' beee-atch?"
2) In the gym, if you're sweating heavily and struggling to breathe, you are not a turn-on to girls and definately shouldn't give them the wink and the two gun finger movement
3) Wilkinsons may have cheap household products, however, the store and its staff are trapped in a rift in space and time and therefore have never left 1962
4) I really, REALLY, REALLY want to put Jeremy Kyle and "those guys at Picture" into a furnace0
