DW done, 3rd load in WM as I type. Fine weather is forecast so I am hoping to get it all dry, or at least dry enough. Some is bedding which I prefer to line dry. I managed to finish my personal list for yesterday, which means the bathroom and kitchen are both done. I also vacuumed the-cupboard-under-the-stairs and started returning contents, I had had to empty it for the plumber. I also did more ironing, that will be aired now and can be put away so I can do even more. Deep joy.
So today I have a couple of urgent work jobs to do, a rabbit hutch to clean, accessories to sew for role play, and other stuff which I dare say I'll remember once I have had enough coffee.
And a treat of roast beef, my whoopsied joint! So now have a bit more space in the freezer.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all.
Healing vibes for ATB's friend, and hugs for Narco and HB (which I hope will be passed on to DC). Hope you enjoy your beef Valli.
So far today, I have had two cups of tea, got washed and dressed, fed the dogs, finished defrosting/cleaning a freezer, put away the washing from yesterday, and changed the bedding which is now in the WM.
DH and I are going out shortly to another village to walk the dogs.
We need to clean the cars and tidy the garden as well as a few other jobs, but I'm making no promises.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Got to hoover, but OH is watching catch up of Grand Prix Q, and the cat is sleeping on the bed.....................I know I should just get on with it, but I can cope with one in a grump with me but not two!!

Because it is too much effort. We are using some of the roof bits to hold down tarps ont he shed roofs and have no idea how it fits together.

Narc0 I am so sorry to hear about your dear friend. x
Figured the park was very likely to be flooded today, so we didn't bother going that way, took the Redways instead. We had a b'day card to post for Mr LW's nephew in any case, so did that during Suzie's walk.
WM load of Mr LW's clothes done, it's currently out on the whirligig.
Mr LW is ironing the Mount Ironmore of hankies that I washed the other day.
Suzie is busy decluttering more zzzzzz - and dreaming; I can see her little paws twitching.
I need to make an apple'n'something crumble shortly (not sure what the "something" will be - choice is blackberries, strawberries, raspberries or cherries, all of which work very well) and Mr LW will undoubtedly want veggie toad-in-the-hole with Marmite gravy for dins (our normal Sunday fare).
Bathroom was blitzed yesterday, so that's out of the way; and I will leave hoovering til Suzie goes home (she's due to be picked up at 16:00 tomorrow).
I need to put the finishing touches to the design for Mr LW's b'day card, print it out and add the embellishments; but I need him to be "elsewhere" while I do this. Gods, it scares me that he'll be 68 in December; I still think of him as 52.
I was also thinking I should start on the Jan/Feb b'day cards (there are 3 in total for these 2 months) - but I see I already did the design for the Jan one and had forgotten, so that can also be printed and embellished, ready for use when I can gain access to the printer. :TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Evening all.
Had two lovely but cold walks with the dogs, but no carclean8ng or gardening got done. I did however hoover right through including behind furniture in the bedroom and hall.
See you all on the new thread.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Spent 90 minutes washing up this afternoon. 90 whole minutes of my life cleaning up his mess from the last week.
Thought he was supposed to be poorly, but I've just come back in from dealing with another load of washing to find him snacking on prepacked meat bits, stinky cheese and onion crisps and jellybabies. that mixture in a bowl makes me feel sick just thinking about it, never mind if it were put in front of me.
I have had nothing to eat today. Because I've been dealing with the mountain of washing up, retrieving every mug other than my own, all the glasses and several manky plates from the spare room where he takes stuff to die, cleaning the hob (where is the little enamelled disc that goes on top of the smallest ring?), wiping all the surfaces, cleaning the toaster, microwave, kettle, outside of the WM, TD, Fridge and Freezer, sweeping more, cleaning the cat bowls _pale_ and everything else. And taking him cups of hot ginger and lemon. Because he was supposed to be still unwell.
Oh, and despite having said several times that I won't ever watch War Horse because a) it's horses b) my granddad was in the Army Service Corp working with the horses and was destroyed by what happened to them both during and after the war c) the horse that this is supposed to be about was killed soon after return d) even knowing that it's CGI and not real, it's still too much to handle, knowing it happened e) I don't give a rat's bum about the people acting as part of the story and f) the animals were victims of war, not heroes, he put the movie on without telling and then disappeared, leaving me ALONE with the remote control I can't work just as one horse dies and the other one is shown panicking across the battlefield.
He's completely oblivious to that, as he wasn't here when I'm sat on the sofa with sodding tears pouring down my face for the real ones that endured it.
*In other news, AF is visiting. This probably doesn't help. But I have only ever cried at animal films. And I was already thinking about my Granddad because of the time of year and how he hated all the pomp and circumstance of Remembrance Day because he felt it was glorifying war.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
