Apart from a trip to Amsterdam in late November for a Christmas market, i've taken all of my holidays for this year.
Nothing booked for next year,. Have changed my mind too many times lol.
Husband always has to book leave quite a way in advance, so we normally start thinking about our holidays fairly early.
Looking for inspiration, particularly city breaks for 2018.
We have paid noticably more for holidays this year because of the tanking pound - only set to get worse, so looking for value for money countries destinations for next year.
Where are you all off to in 2018?

Kicking off on 15 January with a Shearings Monday to Friday break to the New Southlands Hotel in Scarborough.....we love the North Sea coast in Winter brrr.
On 9 February we're having a lazy fortnight in Side, Turkey with Thomas Cook.
On 23 April, we're flying to Skopje in Macedonia for just over 2 weeks. Starting off with 3 nights in Skopje, then getting a bus to Lake Ohrid...

...booked an apartment by the Lake for a week. Then onto a place called Bitola for 3 or 4 nights...

Then back to Skopje for a couple of nights, and home.
The trip we're really looking forward to is to Transylvania on 5 June...

Stay out of the EU. Have a look at Bosnia & Herzegovina [Sarajevo and Mostar]. Easy to get there by flying to Split, stay a couple of nights in Split...

Then get a bus [4 hours] to Mostar...

And then a train to Sarajevo. Only takes 2 hours on the train, and the scenery it passes is beyond beautiful...

Great value for money, a beautiful country with a sad recent past which is very evident.0 -
Off to Florida / Mexico for a month Christmas / New Year.
Las Vegas 2 weeks in April.
Now looking at booking today Singapore / Malaysia in May.
There's a fantastic deal on BC flights, it would be rude not to.
For city breaks 2 of my favourites are Lisbon and Viennatravelover0 -
Off to Rome for the rugby in February. St Lucia in April and probably again 2 or 3 more times - not booked the flights yet but we have a place over there.0

We’re going on a month long cruise in February, from Peru to Sydney, crossing the Pacific and taking in Easter Island (can’t wait!), Tahiti, Bora Bora, the Cook Islands, Auckland etc. Four nights in Ibiza in April, and two weeks in Ibiza in June. Thinking of doing a few days in Northumberland in July, as it’s an area we haven’t been to. September we’re doing a tour of western Canada and a cruise to Alaska. I might fit in Australia in October to see the grandchildren, and probably Tenerife in November. Sounds a lot, and it is, but it’s what we saved for when we planned for retirement. We’re in our mid sixties, and want to do certain long haul trips while we’re still fit and healthy.0

I have a week skiing with a group of 16 friends in February.
Then just booked accommodation for a short break to Spa in Belgium in August for the Grand Prix - got a cancelable holiday home, as just about everything was booked already, but husband needs to have time off confirmed!
That's all for now, but we're thinking of a few shorter trips next year, rather than 1 big holiday. Latitude festival may be on the list, if I can find a caravan - as not willing to camp!0 -
We will have a few weekends away in the UK but have not been as organised as I am usually with overseas bookings. I have booked a week in Puglia for early April. I need to sort out a summer holiday and a half-term break for next October. Possibly a few days away in the May half term slot too.
I am short of ideas though, and being tied to term time means the costs are high. I do quite fancy Ireland, but not sure where to go. We are also looking at river cruises and a driving holiday touring France.0 -
