Well done Dusty on being this week's SOTW.

Last night's dinner of WW wrap with pulled pork, BBQ sauce & salad was lovely. Will definitely do that again next time we have pulled pork. Was still peckish in the evening so sat and ate most of a pineapple! DH had a few pieces, LOL.

    Today's plan:

B - porridge made with water; sprinkle of sweetner
L - ham, egg, beans, mushrooms & chips
D - LO roast chicken breast; mash; cabbage; green beans; splash of gravy (1 syn)

HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
    HEB - porridge
Syns - gravy 1; nothing else planned

    Welcome Greatorex[/B.]

It's up to you whether or not you join a group or just use this site and the web. You'll find lots of recipes on various websites. One of my favourites is Slimming Eats. Lots of people use Pinch of Nom.

Pinterest is also a good source of recipes.

The basic information is in the first post of the thread which explains the plan.

What is often suggested is that you go to a group, get the introductory talk and books and then you can either not go again or continue going. If you go for 4 weeks, fill in food diaries and hand them in and don't lose any weight you will get your money back. Apparently SW has never had to pay any money back as everybody loses if they stick to the plan.

Getting our dog was a long story.

OH had absolutely refused to have a dog. We would have mum's dog when she went on holiday, the poor thing would limp into our house but after being walked regularly she would walk fine when she went home. After a few years of this, OH still refused to allow a dog.

One sunny day, when he was at work, me and the kids watched Beatoven the film, and then went to the seaside. In the newspaper was an advert for lab puppies, so we rang and went on the way home. As we arrived, someone was at the door bring a dog back as her OH would not let her have it. Well that reject was meant to be part of our family. When she ran under the kitchen unit, banging her head and getting stuck, that was deal done.... we paid a terribly large sum of money and bought our baby!

She went on to eat 2 sets of dining chairs, and her favourite activity was to go under the table, get excited and jump up and down banging her head.

    She belongs with us!

Thanks once again for the chart Kathrynha and congrats Dustydigger on SOTW.

Love all the dog talk. We've had 2, both rescues, both lived to well into their teens, one was the ultimate mongrel, the other looked like a flat coated retriever. I miss a dog - maybe when OH retires.....

All was going well food wise yesterday until I spied a packet of gingernuts that I thought were long finished. I have an occasional carb craving day and yesterday was the day! So I reckon I finished on 20 syns or thereabouts. Today better (so far)..

B Alpen light (half HEX B) and a banana - eating breakfast on the road
L Out for lunch so chose roast beef dinner, syns for gravy and, yes people, yorkshire pudding....:rotfl:
D 2 boiled eggs, 4 cripbreads (other half HEX B +1) scrape of spread, yoghurt apple and satsuma

    Tomorrow
B Bran flakes, berries, yoghurt and honey
L Not sure yet - at DD1s doing some decorating so might take lunch with me - maybe a JP with cottage cheese and salad
D Speedy spag bol made with veggie mince

I've started it recently - my circumstances mean that it's not possible for me to attend a group regularly, and joining online seemed very expensive (£70 for 12 weeks I think ) so I just bought the starter pack of books off e-bay and have been going it alone - I've managed to lose over a stone in the first six weeks, though still have a long way to go.
