Two months after we got married DH got a contract in Southern Austria, two flights away at that point. I went out for a weekend and on the way back he dropped me off at the airport. He was on his way to the office when I tried to check in. I was rather early - the flight was the following day
. I had booked it myself. No prospect of changing it  I had to call his office (pre-mobile phones) and ask them to ask him to come back when he got there :cool2:

I have just checked and you are right. There was, briefly, a direct flight before the bank crisis but it fell away. It was London to Graz. It's a lovely place. He was based at the Steyr-Daimler-Puch place, designing parts for the Audi. I remember their " Vorsprung durch technik"or "lead by technology" adverts. I feel for T5B, the task they were attempting was absolutely massive and having worked for an IT company in the past, it was obviously fraught with risks from the moment they decided to change systems.
I'm confident they'll do the right thing by all the people affected, they genuinely do seem to be one of the "nicer" banks, all things considered.

So yesterday I took DD to 5 Sisters Zoo (fantastic place if you've never been). Picked up Mrs E en route and managed to find her at West Calder (no phone reception)!!! We had a lovely day and DD left the gift shop with a hideously bright cuddly toy that she appears to love
Back up the road in time for me to strim and cut the grass and clear out some dead plants from last winter. I then went to L1dl and picked up groceries for next week, as well as 5 hydrangeas, 3 French lavender, 3 ceramic pots and about 200l of compost (the hydrangeas need to be planted in a raised position to combat our poor drainage). I was exhausted by that point and without being a hypochondriac, concerned that I might have had a hernia  Luckily it was just muscle fatigue and fine today (after another sleepless night) :rotfl: When I finally finished everything about 9, I sat on the back doorstep with a beer and watched the rain, which was very therapeutic.
Today I'll drill the pots, plant the lavender and the hydrangeas. Might try and clean the windows if the hose comes as well.
Also ordered some good coffee (my last bargain purchase was a bit !!!! and I have come to the realisation that good coffee isn't optional for me)0 -
I've got two medium priced packs of coffee lurking in the cupboard alongside our usual preferred brand (which we buy in Italy, every year - only in the supermarket but it is definitely different, if only 25% cheaper than here - and only because we drive, so bringing it home is not an issue). When it runs out I really must try one of the economy packs, if only to get it out of the cupboard!
Very impressed with your gardening! It continues to piddle down here and so with my bad back I have the perfect excuse to potter indoors todaySave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
