    Happy Birthday, Ed!

As far as holidays - my sister does all my research, I shamefully piggyback on it.  She's fantastic at holiday research, so I leave her to it.  So I can't tell you about the booking situation down here - SL had some nice suggestions though :)  there's such a variety of beauty in Scotland, I'm sure you wouldn't need to travel far.   Day trips still work, though.

I'm another one that's a bit of a lost soul as far as mse boards go, of course - I paid off my mortgage an awfully long time ago, even the French mortgage got paid off in 2018.  A single thread on here, the mfw board (which is what I thought you were suggesting, and we could certainly just do ourselves, without permission etc) sounds a great halfway house, I really like the idea.

@Karmacat - I may need to start piggybacking your piggybacking, a multistorey piggyback? :D

I have taken out new and improved pet insurance with Bought By Many at my younger brother's recommendation. The premiums are a good bit higher (just over £10/mth), but that's a drop in the ocean to the £800 or so shortfall we have to cover re. the recent accident. Their policy claims to be the most comprehensive in the UK, so we will see. I also note that they cover existing conditions as standard after 2 years.

I've just taken out a Bought by many policy too for our 11 month rescue pup. I almost didn't believe the reviews, so fingers crossed.

The month has started for us and I've juggled what I could, made a donation to the Trussell Trust and added small amounts to my personal savings account and ISA. The vet has submitted our cat claim for roughly £1,800. Unfortunately we'll only get £1,000 of that back :/

@Suffolk_lass - Happy Easter :) We had a lovely visit from Mrs E's sister and her husband today, nearly 5 hours in the warmish Scottish sunshine (13 degrees or so)!

I have given the budgets a micro trim and today we got a bunch of items covered by the Home Maintenance budget that might seem daft, but will improve our quality of life. Including a trench shovel :D, a whirligig, a new cutlery basket for the dishwasher and a whisk! Whirligig was largely covered by Nect@r points, exciting times.
