Aaaaaaargh! Next door have had gardeners in trimming their boundary hedges today with VERY noisy petrol hedge trimmers, I know it has to be done but I wish they've done it on a day I was at work!

LaE message me your address on FB and I will send you a free one :)

I had three eBay sales today which was nice, I need some packing materials and am thinking of going to the station tomorrow morning for the free newspapers.

I'm kind of annoyed as I decided to buy more expensive dishwasher tablets locally rather than use petrol and then got home and realised (after I'd cut the packet) that they were laundry tabs so I still need to drive to the other one

Breakfast was some leftover naan bread and lunch was toast, I am all breaded out! I'm unsure what to get for dinner but pizza is out!

  • Evening all,

Hope you've all had a good day. Birthday wishes to you, Dawn :T

Not been a NSD for me today as met up with some friends for a coffee. Pleased to have come in a fair bit under my groceries allowance for October. I used to be terrible at going to the supermarket out of boredom and in search of entertainment, and I'm much better at planning and making my meals for work in advance. So a private victory of sorts.

    Today I have/will:
    *check accounts
    *[STRIKE]free exercise[/STRIKE] run done
*[STRIKE]free hot drink in town[/STRIKE] done
*November budget - DO THIS!
    *work, work, work!

    Have a good evening, everyone.

The gardener is still doing his best impression of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre next door, IN THE DARK!! At least it'll keep the trick or treaters away :rotfl:

  • Belated birthday wishes DawnW

Foxgloves I love free shopping! Used some of my Boots points to get an item of clothing (also reduced but looks expensive-minnie Mouse) for my cousins new baby ready for Christmas:T.

FVD frustrating about the dishwasher tablets, esp when u were trying to be MSE.

It's been a strange sort of day. Only one lot of trick or treaters but i was upstairs and unless someone hot wires the stairlift for me:D they would have well and truly gone by the time i would have got back downstairs.
Did get some sweets in so will send back with DD for her flatmates at uni as they were only cheap ones.......i had already eaten the good ones:o
Got everything sorted and up to date with errands. One thing i had been putting off is now done.
Cooked up a bacon steak and some broccoli that needed using up,with some wedges, really enjoyed more than i thought after the food poisoning but just wanted something savoury.
Finally completed my end of month grocery spend budget. It is still within my old grocery target which I was happy with. I did have a go and try to reduce it for October which would have been successful except for the extras I had bought for DD to take back to uni with her.
That's about it from me, have a good evening everyone x

Purplefairy if there really isn't enough pastry for a quiche shell, you could make the bits into 'pastry thing' which my kids still go on about and try to prise off of OH if I have leftover pastry - roll out the pastry into a rough square or oblong shape, sprinkle with brown sugar and raisins or sultanas, dot all over with little bits of butter and fold the corners to middle (if that makes sense) Seal edges with a little water, turn over on floured board and roll again to flatten a bit. Score surface with a knife, brush with water and sprinkle with a little white sugar, and bake. You can either make small ones, or one big one which you can slice to share around. Takes longer to write about than do! :)

Anyway, 1st November today - where did October go?
My plans for today look like this:
Walk dog x 2 I did one, OH the other :)
Pack 3 ebay parcels Done, slight panic when I couldn't find one of them, but it turned up in the end!
Walk to post office with them - must also pick up a parcel that couldn't be delivered yesterday. Done
Go to sales unit while out (shop is only round the corner from the post office) to see if anything needed /tidy up. It is also payday :T Done, quite a few things had sold, so I need to take some more things down there tomorrow :T
Remember to rinse my sprouting seeds :j Done
HM meals from what I have in Done
Some cleaning / tidying, I find it better to do a bit each day :)Failed here :o
Start a shopping list for odds and ends I will need at some stage this week and may otherwise get forgotten. Done
    No spends today :)Done :T
Received £2 of shopping vouchers from RM surveys :)
But on the downside I will probably have to refund an ebay buyer whose parcel hasn't arrived :( I have asked her to check with neighbours and her local sorting office (you would be surprised how many people don't think to do this) and if it doesn't turn up by the end of the week to let me know. I will just refund, not worth stressing about a small, low cost item.

    Morning folks

HK - glad you're on the mend
1LL - be gentle with yourself. I hope you can take a few good minutes for yourself today x

Feeling a tad delicate myself. Tummy seems a bit erm (TMI) bubbly... there has been something going round in work :(

Did the big budget yesterday. Looking a bit tight due to me not doing any overtime and OH hurting his arm and losing 2 weeks of gig money. Shopping bill must be cut as a priority now.

Also it's OH's birthday today. He's 33... not sure how this happened. We met 11 years ago yesterday.

    Yesterday's round up:
    • Meals from plan - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Car for the MOT - hope that saved money covers it - expensive but in true Foxgloves style, it is covered by the kitty
    • Crochet m-I-l's scarf and post about it - too tired
    • Add a "Quote" button to my facebook page - done
    • No drinks - done
    • Gym at lunchtime - done. Feel beat up.
    • Big budget day after we know how much the car will cost - done
    • Entered a radio competition online instead of by text, thus saving £1.50! - done

    Today:
    • Meals from plan - done
    • No drinking
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Log cals in free app (bit over yesterday due to nibbling Halloween choccy coins :o) - done
    • Crochet if not too tired
    • OH getting a lift to work and back with his mum as car must stay in garage today - done
    • Start meal planning next week. Attempt for it to be as cheap as possible. - done
    • Gym at lunchtime but just going to put on my jogging bottoms and do some stretching. I'm tired, tight and beat up. - done. Def a good plan.
Right, time to chuff some paracetamol down me and hope for the best!

    Have a good one all
