I had a brainwave today. I have under £13000 left on my mortgage. As soon as I've cleared my debt I'm going to turn my focus towards that and start making overpayments.LBM 26/10/17

I became debt free today.
I know I haven't posted here in almost a year but I've still been chipping away at my debt and today I made the final payment to one of my creditors.
In total I had debts of £15421.47. I negotiated discounts totalling £8105.37 and repaid £7206.10.
It feels a little bit surreal to be honest.LBM 26/10/17

Congratulations
I'm going to be a bit of a kill joy and just say yes, by all means go ahead and enjoy yourself now you've reached such a big goal, but please don't slip back into your old ways. It's so easy to do, now you know you can get out of debt it might be tempting to go over budget slightly or just borrow a bit. You've done amazing, but the hard part now is sticking to it forever without that big target to clear.
I'm not trying to take away from how well you've done because those were huge numbers.
Congratulations againLittle One born 19/12/18

Thank you NelliePie.
There is absolutely no chance I'm going to go back into debt. The holiday is booked and paid for with cash. No credit cards, no loans, nothing like that.
I appreciate the advice, I really do. I've definitely learnt my lesson. Come January 2020 I'm starting on the mortgage. There's around £11000 left and I intend to be mortgage free by 2021.LBM 26/10/17
