I'm a bit stressed this afternoon. I received this email today:

    Asset Collections and Investigations Limited
    Re: Account Summary
    Customer Reference: 3*****
    Original Creditor: AvantCredit
    Outstanding Balance: £657.55

    Dear ******,

We note that we have been trying to contact you for 30 days and have had no response to date.

Even at this late stage, we can still offer you a payment arrangement tailored around your affordabillity. There are lots of ways you can make payments.
    Kind Regards,
    Asset Collections & Investigations

However I settled with them as agreed on 31st October 2017. Here is the confirmation email:

    Dear ******,

    Re: ACI (Avant)
    Reference Number 3*****
    Amount Outstanding £0.00

I can confirm that the above account is now Settled in Full. There is no outstanding balance to be paid, your account will be updated and we will close your account and update your credit file.

This payment would mark your account as Partially Satisfied on your credit file.
    Kind Regards,
    Scott Craig
    Account Manager

What on earth are they playing at?? I've emailed them back.

Hopefully it's just an admin error - unless you had two loans with them? do the customer references line up?
Let us know what happens and try to not let this get you down too much until you know what the situation is.

At least you're organised enough to know that it was wrong and didn't just add it to your list! Take it as a win and keep going :)

  • Hi, it's taken a couple of days to read your diary and I love your very proactive approach to debt busting, it's amazing how much you have slashed your debt in the last 9 months! Well done

I haven't updated this since June, its been a busy busy summer. I hope everyone is well.

I've been chipping away at the debt regardless and I cleared another one this week. The first Lowell debt is now paid off.

My debt currently stands at £3008.41. I've dropped the ball a bit in terms of making progress through the other debts and they remain as they were in June. Time to refocus and kick on.

Brilliant progress. It is coming down nicely. Coming ever closer to that DFD.

I'm getting there. It's just over two months until the 1st anniversary of my LBM. If I can get my debt down to £2164.49 or less I'll be happy. That will mean I have reduced what I owe by £10,000 in a year. So that's around two months to find £843.92.

You've done incredibly well. We all drop the ball now and then just don't beat yourself up and keep going. Just think if you can have a blip and still knock off around £10K in one year Imagine what you could do next year with the £10k savings you could make! Well done :)
