Maybe if everyone complained they would rethink their policies0

Possibly. I think that the majority of people aren't aware that they can make a complaint like this.LBM 26/10/17

Today was a good day. My O2 contract came to an end yesterday so I ported my number onto GiffGaff. I now own my phone outright (I bought it last week) and have a £12 per month recurring topup set which gives me more than enough data/calls/texts. It's the first time in years I haven't had a mobile contract and I have to say, it feels good.LBM 26/10/17

My phone contract comes to an end in July and will be moving to sim only saving hundreds over the year. Will check out your phone suggestion for when my Samsung is no good. I like iPhones but they are so expensive.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I've been reading up on here and other places about how to improve my credit score. I'm not going to lose sleep over it because it is what it is and is entirely my fault. I do have some defaults so I'm going to try to deal with these because I'm told that companies can and do consider removing them. My plan is simply to email them, starting with EE to see how I get on. I'm not expecting much but I'll just be nice and ask the question.
My credit score on Totally Money is very poor, 320 out of 710 so I've got nothing to lose. With consistent payments made on time and no more sillyness the only way is up.LBM 26/10/17

Well, that was quick... Goes to show that sometimes you just have to ask. Time to make a start on the others and see how I get on.
Good morning Steven,
Reference: Credit File Default 07722 ******
Thank you for your prompt response and for clarifying the account information that I requested from you earlier.
This has allowed me to further investigate the concern you have brought to my attention and based on this I have requested EE!!!8217;s Credit Referral Team investigate removing the default marker this account has caused on your credit file.
Once they have responded to let me know the outcome on this I will be in touch and update you further.
Thank you again for your patience and co-operation on this matter Steven.
Kind regards

One of the companies I have made a complaint about but no longer owe money to is Provident. The initial complaint wasn't acknowledged so I made a further complaint about this. They have now acknowledged my original complaint and posted a cheque for £50 as compensation which arrived yesterday. They are investigating my affordable lending complaint and I banked the £50 cheque today. As soon as it's cleared it's going to Shoosmiths to reduce the balance.LBM 26/10/17
