Day 16

Value for money - Brought my lunch and a big flask of tea to hospital. Was offered a cup of tea from the lady who brings hot drinks to the patients, which I gladly took. Have been doing surveys, some I completed and some I was screened out of.
Clear out - deleted emails and general paper recycling.
Organise - Getting back into the routine to do some things around the flat.
Mental health - Did get upset in the hospital because of the way I was treated by the ward consultant. Did complain and cried. At least most of the staff are nice and friendly. Am hoping to go to bed early tonight.
Grateful for:
My Mum managing to achieve some small things today, even though she does not see them herself at the moment.

Thank you for the hugs!
I do sometimes sit in the car with a cuppa, though we have a garden I don’t have time to do anything with it. Its still stuck in the 80’s layout and the neighbours plants overhang/grow everything– I shouldn’t grumble it blends nice with the time warp of a living room.
Despite late arriving parcels and messed up cookie cakes, DD2’s bday went well. The kids in her class got the extra cookie to share (It was free, so I didn’t have to buy sweets to share!) One of the toys from Amazon turned out to be a fake – reported it. The bike that mum was so worried about being second hand was “best present ever.” I think there is a lesson to be learned there.
Now I have to look forward to the party of 20 this weekend.
…
Eat Well. Cookies, Cake, Garlic Bread, Pizza, Mini hotdogs. Nothing that might have anything green on it or in it today.
I discovered that drinking too much tea can stop your body absorbing iron, which can cause you to feel drained. I tend to drink more tea in winter to stay warm. I suppose it might well impact the B12/B6 so my aim is to drink more water with meals. Alcohol is also an iron blocker. Which leads me to:
Mental Health: Not sure if its all the sugar, gym, or getting through today. But feeling more positive today.
Value for money: Used up the voucher on lunch with DH. Free £5 at Book of Dreams
Getting organised. Plan to follow Mothernerd’s advice and fill the freezer with quick stuff/precooked stuff. Aim to batch bake on Sunday. Shopped for ingredients today.
- Pudsey day tomorrow - youngest wanted a Pudsey-Patch. She planned to sew it herself. I did point out that it was her Bday and she wouldn't have time. So I'm colouring spots onto an old t-shirt to cut into a bandana-ry type thing.
-Use my “NO” shield more often, ensure I get stuff important to me done too.
-List more stuff for sale.
Groceries PW (lost track of last week80.00/£55.63
Petrol PW £25.00/£00.00

Exercise PW Got to the gym today! 1/3
Monthly Social inc extra fuel: 4.95/50.00
Half school run is working well so no need to track that any longer.
DD1 School Dinners Monthly 30/£45
Carpet Fund: £43.47
Christmas: Used the Black Friday voucher to snag something from Book of Dreams. Bought several more things for Mum to give to DDs/DH No room left in house now … or it feels that way.
Gratitudes.
DD2. She is so grateful for things, despite wanting everything at the end of the rainbow what ever she gets is enough.
Orders arriving eventually so it looked like I planned a final bedtime surprise.
Overhearing last minute wishes + next day delivery = unexpected whoots.

Hi all turtles :j
Checking in: 15/30
NSDs: 7/15 nope still stuck on seven. Shouldn't have gone to the shops...
Organise: Not a lot done to organise things but will have to do soon as it's getting me down now, hardly able to move in the kitchen etc. Started on a cupboard in the dining room, stuff hasn't seen the light of day for years. Then asked DH to turn on the gas fire, it's a bit tricky - only to find he'd got some soot on the carpet - not even down a day!! Grrr - anyhow have a super GT carpet stain remover thank goodness I was able to lay my hands on it. All fine now but no idea where it came from as I cleaned the hearth etc before the fitter came...
Value for money - got a few YS items in the supermarket..
Exercise - might as well sack this off because I never take any formal exercise & can't see me ever doing it.
Mental health - Hmm not so great today. It must be due to being rushed, I hate it but it always seems to happen...makes me snappy & stressed
Be Christmas ready - Spied an advent in the supermarket I wanted to get but couldn't because DD was with me..
Eat well - Didn't eat healthy meal already prepped as found a chicken in fridge that needed cooking so made a proper dinner. Also found a tin of pumpkin (!) in my cellar diving so made a pumpkin spice cake, have to say it was really nice. And from somewhere I have a fancy loaf tin with pumpkins embossed on it. Not GBBO standard, but pretty fancy for me :rotfl:
Gratitudes - DH doing a post run to post letter to abroad for me & parcel sending back, remembered to get some of my favourite mints so having one as a treat (and one to come later), tasty meal & food prepped for tomorrow already
Shame that you had a bad experience at the hospital Kerry Woman, why can they just not be civil even if they are stressed or something. Hope you get a decent nights sleep. Organise remortgaging, making meal plan today and shopping list
Value for Money
Half way through the month, and after the regular bills, I have spent less than £200. Will keep up the frugality until after I have paid Mr Plasterer.
Come ON Mr Plasterer!!
The surveyor has just gone, so hopefully we will be cleared for the reduced rate remortgage deal we are going after - I must say I did not like him (and he was about 12)- give a man a hat and you will see his true self.
Eat Well will do
Mental Health] Crunchy grass, cold nose, scraping cars, frosty roof tops - all good here!!

Day 17 - #18 Checking in....
Don't really want to check in today as things have gone a bit wrong but I suppose that's the point recording it so you can improve it!!
NSD - 8/12 - Not an NSD today donation for Children in Need at school, and I need to pay a bill for something until a customers pays me back (I'm a distributor for Kleenese as well as my job).
Organise - Grocery budget £191.60/£283.00 however another £76 is being added to this for an online shop being delivered on Sunday. Tried to keep it to £60 but needed to replace ood medicines its mostly goodies for our C Parcs trip and definitely cheaper than buying it there but I keep going through it to try to reduce it but end up adding more
I have a plan in mind starting Jan 18 to pay off all my debts within 5 years. I have £270 in budget a month to pay off debts. I need to pay around £250 to achieve this. I am going to put the £20 difference in a separate account for DS to cover school donations, party presents and his clothes. Then from my own pocket money (roughly £80 per month) try to overpay the debt and save for Christmas 2018. I am also keeping an empty CC open incase I need to move a balance around in 12 months time. I am going to use this CC to pay for food shopping and fuel but pay it off every week to earn vouchers handy for Christmas next year. I also need to use cash to pay for things so I get change so I can put in pots to save some that way too.
Value for Money - A few offers at t£sco but just made me buy more!!!
Exercise - Forgot to book clubbercise so saved £6 but its now booked up for tonight so non today.
Mental Health - Not a great nights sleep but feeling okish.
Xmas /DS Birthday - Writing more invites today. Need to have them done by week on Monday so he can take to school.
Eat Well - I'm 3/4 of a lb over what I wanted to be before C Parcs. We go on Monday so hopefully if I stay focused and not go into holiday mode tonight, it will come off! Special K/Soup, Satsuma & Apple/Pasta in Sauce and water for todays menu. Read on here yesterday that drinking tea affects your iron intake. I usually have about 6 teas a day will try to reduce to 4.
Be Grateful - Listening to Children in Need stories makes me grateful that my biggest worry is debt.
Declutter - Magazines were next on my list, however all of mine get passed on to my Mum or Sister. DH has a pile of car magazines but daren't touch those. Next on my list is the junk drawer will tackle this over the weekend.
O/D - Still £1486.60 hopefully staying at this until end of month as next weeks spend accounted for and customers pay me back soon.
Have a good day and a great weekendLightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2600 -
Gratitudes - I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!! health, happiness, hamsters making me laugh, - oh yeah, and I saved another worm from the frozen pavement. This is the most beautiful thing I've read in ages. You really brightened up my day today.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Hello everyone
NSDs- Still at 6/12.
Organise!- After my two days of absolute laziness I have been a bit better today. Washing done and drying. Ironing finished and put away. Cleaned bathroom and did a general tidy everywhere else although a proper clean would be better. Made curry for dinner tomorrow for the three of us
Value for money!- Nothing special today but always mindful of getting the best price.
Exercise!- Walked a bit.
Mental health!-Feeling much relieved. A long term situation is about to be settled in the next couple of weeks.
Be Christmas ready!- I’ve just realized that it is only two weeks till we have our winter holiday in the Lakes so I really need to get everything sorted before we go. Ordered some gift vouchers and bought sweets for the children. Just a couple of M & S vouchers and chocolate etc for C and my son and that will be me finished. Will sort that all out next week (lots of ideas from Aldi and Lidl). Plan is to wrap the remaining presents and write the cards over the weekend.
Eat well!- Emm? Eating out of the freezer but not particularly healthy but not snacking which can only be a plus.
Gratitudes – Lovely cold sunny day
Counting my blessings – I really don’t have anything much to complain about
Wonderful family – not just C and my son but my cousins, sister in law, nephew and family. I really am so lucky;Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Day 17

Food - £124.00/£100 Not a good day, gone way over my target. going to have to try and last the rest of the month with only buying milk and fruit!
Exercise - 7/20
Studying - 11/25
Clear out - 15/30
Extra income - £97.47/£100 - Sold some more things on eBay, so close to this target now although after today I am going to need to earn a little more.
Have bought another Christmas present today with thanks to the nectar double up, great value for money at only £5 worth of points (doubled up to £10). Also doubled up some points to spend on clothing so added in some pyjamas for DS for Christmas.
Grateful for the double up event and for my peers at uni helping me through an assignment. Also grateful for lovely quality time with DS, movie night tonight with one of my all time favourites - Beauty and the Beast.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0
