    Thanks for SAGA.

For Saga although it's telephone access you can apply online
You need a cheque book and an a/c (the same as cheque book!) which will allow faster payments & DDs

So same as SW & BM?

    Ordered 2 x M&S £10 gift cards from Parks Savings Club- £1.66 DD Dec1st- Nov1st
Only another 7? DDs to go...!

  • I have DD's set up for billing on 18866, 18185, 1899, Onetel and Plusnet. So far I haven't used them for the purpose being discussed here but after the imminent loss of Tesco etc. perhaps they will come in useful. Of course one would need to remember to route at least one call per month through each company from landline or mobile. I believe that call charges are invoiced monthly but need to check to be sure.
Copied and pasted from the 18866 faq.
What kind of payment methods do you offer?
You can sign up with any credit or debit card (Visa, Master, Euro or Solo card, American Express and Diners Club). We do also offer direct debit payments.

Does anyone know if Park Savings accept sign ups part way through the year? Not fussed if I get the cards/vouchers for Christmas 2018 or 2019.

Yes - you can start now and pay small amounts monthly which you can change online which will end next October for your Xmas 2018 voucher. You can then start again for Xmas 2019.

Dodgy little baguette. Whoever started Little Direct Debits must be making a tidy profit, getting 90% of the DD and giving only 10% to Charity.:angry::angry:

They wait months or years until you owe £1 before collecting. True for 18185 in my personal experience

    It's probably worse than that.

10% of profits may even be only what's left after a generous founder's salary. At best 10% is pretty mean spirited, at worst it's just milking people who think they're doing themselves and charities a favour.

I won't be using them on principle. And that's before I consider what security is in place to protect our banking information from hacks, though perhaps that side is handled securely by go card less.

As they're collecting and holding money, shouldn't they be under some form of regulation? I thought these days even their monthly newsletter would fall under financial advice regulations, given that, elsewhere, the person running the stoozing forum felt the red tape no longer allowed him to publish summary tables. Or does it not work like that?

I use 18185 but it appears as Connect Telecom- However they tend to bill (by DD) possible every 2 months when it reaches something like £2

You can extend the payments by one more month to end November 18- that's what I did:
    £1.66 per month
