I have no idea what the minimum is, I usually pulled a fiver when I used it. It makes no difference as you still own your pound or fiver

So can you still setup multiple DDs to a PayPal account? I kinda thought that I'd read a while ago now that PayPal  had stopped allowing funding of their accounts via DD?
This has alwasy been the case with online Banking. You will need to use their apps for this purpose.

I see. So I  guess if I  downloaded the PayPal app then I could use that to setup multiple DDs should I need to?

Yes. for multiple DD You could link several different current accounts. Every month you need a DD you just need to choose that specific AC on your PP mobile app.
And I'm assuming that I can set this to happen automatically, each month, to collect from multiple current accounts? ie without me having to intervene in any way once I've set them up?
No. Paypal DDs cannot be automated. You will need to action a single payment each time you want one
Paypal is fine for emergency DDs but you need to look elsewhere if you want a solution with no intervention
Yes I understand how it works now. Whilst it's not ideal, at least it provides a possibility in an emergency.  On the plus side,  I guess it's possible to pull just £1 to PayPal, whereas with others there is often a minimum of £10 required?
If memory serves me right, there has only been one bank (COOP?) which stipulated a minimum DD amount, and that was £2. All my DDs are for £1.0x, where x is 1,2,3,4 etc so I can distinguish them when they get debited. I have also taken to make mine annual DDs unless they must be monthly.

Natwest/RBS specify a minimum DD amount of £2 for their reward accounts. As far as I know there is no minimum DD amount for Co-op these days though.

No minimum DD amount for Coop but they require 4x DDs (not necessarily different DDs source) . Nowadays it is quite hard to find a saving account that allow weekly DDs (if any).
Does anyone know which saving account that could still do weekly DD ? BM,PO used to be good for this but no longer available in Nov/Dec 2022 ? Any other suggestion ?
This PayPal might  do the work, by pulling them one after another 4x.
Also PP is good for TSB switching to get additional £55 which provide condition make at least 5 debit card payments per month.

Out of curiosity a while ago. I tried it as low as 1p, 2p  it worked and booked on my current account. But as another person has said. There is no need for this as you still own the money and you pull it to PayPal which could be used to pay a lot of things.

As you can't (as far as I can tell) top up PP via the debit card, this requires 5 x purchases.
In which case, why not pay directly with the debit card?

Because pay directly with Debitcard is not the same with DD.
When the stipulated condition is two active DDs you will not meet that conditions.

So how is PP good for the extra £55 from TSB, if that also requires 5 x debit card payments?

Or do you mean that PP can be used for one of the 2 required DDs, but 5 DC payments (and another non-PP DD, as the PP DD, even if taken multiple times, is still only one DD) are also required?

It is  about preference. You link your TSB Account for DDs. You link your TSB Debitcard to PP payment. PP is accepted everywhere from Screwfix, Tool station, eBay items, etc. You could even buy penny items on eBay using PP and you do not need to type your Debitcard number everytime you need it. With PP you could easily pay something rather than using your physical card.
