If you check the old style boards you will definitely find advice for reducing the £400 a month.

    Can mum work?
  • Mum was working part time but the nursery costs were £20 a month less than what she was earning, would you work 40 hours a month for £20?
  • One of the reasons I get a bee in my bonnet is because people who don’t work can get free child care, but those tax payers have to pay, makes sense right?

But yet you were previously quite happy to accept tax credits that I and other tax payers paid for you!

Do the SOA as suggested by eskbanker in #3.

That is your first starting point.

Try and make as realistic as possible - many people turn a SOA into a wish list and that's not going to get you the advice you need.

Can your OH find a different PT job around your working hours - especially coming up to Christmas lots of businesses are recruiting covering a variety of hours. This will save on child care but still give you extra funds to pay down the debt.

Without the SOA you will struggle to get practical advice on your budget - the advice can then match the info.

It won't be an overnight fix but at least you will have some goals. ;)

For a start you're almost certainly entitled to child benefit.
